I know this is absolutely not the point of this piece, but what struck me here - as it has many times in other circumstances - is that Andraya realized her trans identity through gravitating towards traditionally feminine markers like heels and skirts and having long hair.

I think that’s a problem though, because it erases the important distinctions between cases and equates many different actions to be on the same ethical/legal level. People have a deeply emotional response to just the term ‘pedophilia’, which is all the more reason it needs to be used accurately.
