And how will anyone confirm that it actually has been shut down? Are we supposed to take their word for it?

Is there some prize for *not* buying the album?

The real issue, it seems to me, is that she is a very lopsided fighter. Great at grappling. Not great at much else.

Now playing

Actually, the fight I’m thinking about was this one.

Yes! That’s the one. One of the most humiliating defeats I’ve ever seen, with poor Gracie, on his ass, kicking his feet up in the air like a toddler having a tantrum.

Perhaps after this thrashing, some of the mindless BJJ/grappling worship that the sport has endured, of late, will pass. The fact is, against a really good puncher and kicker who can keep you at distance, the grappler doesn’t have a chance. One good punch or kick to the face/head/neck and it’s over.

I haven’t had any bugs or glitches on PC.

Maybe the problem is that she can’t box and relies too much on grappling.

Seems to me this demonstrates the inherent weakness of all the BJJ and grappling worship we’ve been seeing over the past years — a good boxer and kicker can keep you out of range and there isn’t a damned thing you can do.

To begin with, only the first three Bonds can possibly appear in a “best of” list. By the end of the Moore era, the franchise was exhausted, and the followup films were either weak or featured a spectacularly miscast actor as Bond.

Even though I would choose Majesty’s Secret Service, this is a very good choice.

No Bond movie with Craig can be the best one. He’s one of the worst cast Bonds I’ve ever seen. Looks like he should be mixing cement or fighting UFC.

You clearly know nothing about the history of Star Trek or the breadth of its influence in popular culture.

No one is disputing what your view is, just its relevance.

Actually a subset of the fans — the idiot subset — killed it.

Yes, but they’re terrible.

No, actually we do agree on this. Certainly not everything from that era stands up, and not even everything from the authors I mentioned. It just struck me as very weird to see a Top 10 Science Fiction list, without Rendezvous with Rama, Foundation, or Stranger in a Strange Land.

Sorry, but you’re just wrong about this. They’ve held up magnificiently. As a matter of fact, I still teach some of them, in my Philosophy and Literature course.

I agree with you regarding a list of favorites. I guess the headline kind of made me think more of a top 10, where one was trying to be somewhat objective, to the extent that is possible.

Well, there are top 10 lists that try to go beyond mere personal preference and give some sense of influence, lasting impact, etc. But, yes, of course a list of one’s favorites is just that.
