No, of course not. As I said, it’s more the headline.

Agree with you entirely about the nasties, by the way.

Well, in that case, I’m reacting to the title. Anyone can like anything they like, but to suggest that any of the books on the list, other than a few, belong in a top 10 more than, say, Rendevous with Rama or the first Foundation, is rather silly.

The whole point of the show was to serve as a metaphor for high school. Once they were out of high school, the show lost its basic raison d’etre and just became another vampire/monster bore fest.

Talk about a remake that should never have been made. Why would anyone watch this crap, when Jack Lord is available?

I thought it started going south after the torture porn episodes that were their miserable redo of Pegasus and Cain.

Losing John Rhys Davies killed the show more than anything else.

I think exactly the opposite is the case. It was the reveal that killed the show and turned it from a great exercise in conspiracy narrative into rather stale sci fi.

Or it could be that they strongly disagree with the list, as I do. No reason for anyone to be nasty, though.

The lack of a single book by Arthur C. Clarke or Isaac Asimov — or for that matter, Heinlein — makes this list rather a joke. Indeed, other than one or two of the books on the list, none of them is even close to Rendevous With Rama, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, or the first Foundation.

Will do. Thanks again!

Thank you! Are any other of the classic 70s Marvel comics available like this? My Avengers issues are the only ones I kept.

I have the original issues of the Avengers that comprise the Korvac saga. Bought them in the day, when I was a kid. But I don’t have the issue of Thor that started it off.

I just revealed my age. I didn’t even know this existed. Thanks!

Sigh. Am I the only one who misses the real Guradians of the Galaxy? You know, the group that chased Korvac across time and space, as opposed to the joke version we get now?

A person is an ass for loving the thought of a juicy steak and hating the thought of eating bugs?

Or perhaps, they just don’t want to eat bugs.

If all online conversations went like this, the internet would actually be a pleasant place.

The film ending was far better.

I thought the movie was fantastic, especially if you get the Director’s Cut, which includes the Black Freighter.
