With some $grifting added to the reputation wash!

And yet, I don’t believe that the average driver has increased in his/her ability to handle this extra power. In fact, most of the time when I gaze upon the roads and survey my fellow motorists, I’m inclined to think the opposite...

The only thing that would feel slower than that, would be following that.

The very first car to leave an impression on me on how hard it accelerated up an on ramp to speed, pushing me back into the seat, was a 90s Mercedes SL600.

Exactly. I was watching an old one about the 1st gen Acura Legend and its 0-60 was like 10 or 11 seconds. I couldn’t believe it - when I was a kid my mom had that car and it felt like it could snap your neck off when floored compared to most family cars of the time. It’s all relative, and how quickly we forget.

I’m going to tell you a tale about underpowered. 6200 lb truck with 3500 lb trailer, 9600 feet elevation climb, 130 whp on a good day. 320,000 miles on the drivetrain.

Now playing

Watching MotorTrends retro reviews drives this point home. The latest 89 “Cam Ray” V6 ripped to 60 in 9.3 seconds which was deemed “very respectable for a family sedan”.

When are we going to learn more about who was on those tours and who gave them?  Seems like some new info should have already come out (unless I missed it).

There a lot of ‘em but we can keep squishing them down in there.

That was exactly my first thought. Was he ‘on tour’ the day prior?

And who wants to bet that he was one of the friends she gave a tour of the Capitol building to the day before?  (Note: during the pandemic, there were supposed to be NO tours of the building.  They didn’t think to especially single out pre-insurrection plan making tours.)

Down an elevator shaft.

Joe Manchin wants people to suck up to him, and if he acts like he’s not going to go along with what they want unless they do, he gets his way.  That’s what’s wrong with Joe Manchin.

Yup. Even the way his statement was worded was so lacking in affection. He could have described his relationship with a printer with greater warmth. He does not give a shit about her.

Dude, you had no problem with Dump inciting violence against Asians/Asian Americans when it served your purposes and you have none now. You would stand over your wife’s bullet riddled body and still refuse to enact any kind of sane gun control laws and every single person alive knows it.

I told people from day one that Mitch McConnell was WAY more dangerous and evil than Trump. In a way, I was wrong, because cult, but he definitely is one of the few people I’d feel extremely happy to see move on from this plane.

“As the husband for almost three decades of an Asian-American woman, I have noticed—and we have experienced, over the years—racial prejudice against Asian-Americans,” McConnell said, referring to his wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao.

That really does encapsulate this nonsense. These guys sound like every asshole I knew in high school. And now they’re all “grown up,” but with the same juvenile mentality - plus, now they’ve got badges & guns! What could possibly go wrong?

Cops are ass shovels (autocorrect did a better insult than me there) but I will also share something I think is related to this. A few months back I read a study saying that online troll behavior was leaking into online remote work spaces, like slack. Remote work sexual harassment incidents were up. The researchers
