Batman movies get criticized when they STOP being humorless, brutal, and excessively dark. When the two get together, you should contrast them, light and dark, not double down on the dark.

And if Batman V. Superman proved anything, it's that Warner's has absolutely no idea how to copy other franchises that are doing things well.
