I mean I'm asking in relationships that do work, how do you transition from these weekly dates to being ok with going over to someone's place? Is it as easy as inviting someone to dinner? Sorry for the confusion.

No, I mean for relationships in general that work, how long does it take to transition to that. I've never been able to stay friends with an ex.

My (brief) girlfriend and I are probably about to break up. But I'm wondering how to transition from a relationship where you go out to dinner or a movie or to see a museum to a relationship where you are ok going to someone's apartment (without any sex expectations. How long does that take and how do you go about the

It's a disqus channel run by MrsLangdonAlger that's been around for a year and a half and is going to try and duplicate things like Reasonable Discussions. Along with the TIF forum, it's one of the two big AVClub community spin-offs.

Thank you for these transcripts! They've been wonderful to read- I've really appreciated them. And I'll miss the community here and elsewhere on the AVClub. You or anyone else is welcome to start a Savage Love disqus thread on the Avocado to parallel the weekly Kinja AVClub article being published if you'd like.

We'll meet again
Don't know where
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day
Keep smiling through
Just like you always do

May I just say that I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

A total eclipse of my heart

Caught up on Preacher, hunted Pokemon raids in Pokemon Go with a horde of other folks organizing over gchats (I think I may have accidentally taken up jogging), bracing for the Kinja update here : ( Hope it's next Monday and not Sunday so we get another week of show reviews in. I'm not ready.

We all float down here.

So I got an email from disqus talking about how disqus versions of existing AVClub threads prior to the switch will continue to exist, just on disqus' servers where they've already copied automatically when a new AVClub article is published. You'll just need to migrate your bookmarks for this Open Thread over to
https:/

As someone who has received death threats and impersonation on disqus I will nevertheless not be creating a kinja account. There are no privacy settings and no way to delete your profile. Also I'm not going to suck up to writers and admins just to get out of the 'greys.' It's the worst of all possible worlds.

In all seriousness this is the end of the AVClub's comment community I grew to love over the last decade. The golden age has been gone foe a while, but this is the end. In a long long shitty year of losing things, my country, my job, and now this, this loss particularly stings.

"What about us braindead slobs AVClub legacy accounts?"
"You'll all be given cushy jobs! sent to a farm upstate!"

I think Homer the AVClub gets stupider every year.

She lives, Jaguar.
