I am glad volvo helped you, and I can respect their drive for zero fatalities.

I mean no disrespect to how your mother’s volvo saved her- and your- life.

I guess the answer is it fits within volvo’s buying demographic.

Makes me hate volvo that stands against everything I believe in.

But I can understand for some people

In-car safety technology is “accident avoidance” - IE “Can’t trust the driver” tech. They didn’t say “The mechanical limits of the chassis” or “Tire design” or any mechanical issue... just “Our nannies that save you from yourself”.

This is the type of attitude that scares me from car makers... I interpret it as:

“We don’t trust you to handle what we sell you. We insist on controlling you.”

If they would have said they were limiting it to 112 like some of my old cars did in the 80s because “This car just isn’t designed to go that fast”, I’d be like

I wonder why there is so little conversation about the electric ioniq. I got to drive in one of those and I fell in love with it.

I haven’t test drove a car before I bought it in 10 years... unless it was an old clunker I was test driving to make sure it wasn’t about to blow up.

Seriously though, I’ve bought all my cars without test drives and never had an issue.... and quite a few were above 40k.

Maybe its a generational thing.

You’d be surprised... the guys I know on the ferrari boards are like “just turned over 240k on my testarossa”

The ones who are talking about the cars being ruined are doing so drinking their earl grey tea on the slopes of the Alps.

When I sold my jeep, I got way more than 10% of the parts... I got almost 100% of the parts.

I reckon everyone knows demuro.

90 days is normally the point where dealerships take the car to auction..

so 90 days is an eternity because most companies won’t keep them any longer than that.

One of the best ways to get a STEAL from a car is grab them when they’ve been on the lot for 85-90 days and its slated to go back to auction.

No, businesses want cashflow.

profits are taxed.

I didn’t become remotely wealthy until I could file tax returns where I officially lost all my money and was broke, but in practice had loads of cash.

So lots of cashflow, no profit... thats what businesses want today!

The disclaimer specifically says you can NOT have the car for the listed price... lol. That is beyond shady.

I don’t know though...

I am fine with a 2 pedal manual.

I HATE ANY CAR WITH A TORQUE CONVERTER. THEY SUCK THE BLOOD OUT OF THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE.

So I would argue that we should ask for, “Torque Converter? Y/N”

seriously though, Automated Manuals and stick shifts are about the same in my book, but I know some others

Thats it! Thanks for correcting me!

I wonder if Car dealers have their own CP or NP where they judge the exact opposite-

“Alright, so I listed this thing at 6,356 - Forced the buyer into a $3,500 extended warranty, a 12.6% APR, wheel and tire insurance, underbody protectant, paint and interior protectants, and key insurance. Ended up getting $13,740 for

How do you have an NPorCP when the actual price isn’t listed? Kind of BS frankly.

If this car was available for the list price it would be a NP, but it isn’t. The listing specifically says you cannot have the car for that price, you have to buy extended warranties and such. Thats often at least 2500, butting this price

Its probably closer to 10 grand purchase price- or more depending on how sleezy they are.

Did you read the listing? You can’t actually buy the car for that price...

I’m regretting not buying one that was in my neighborhood. I saw it, price was right, but I figured I’d keep looking. Thats a tough car to find!

It gets complicated on automated manuals and dual clutches...

Take a Ferrari F1. I mean it IS a manual transmission, but its not what you want when you are looking for a manual transmission...

I had this debate with a dealership selling a DSG. (I think thats what its called) m5. He said in the VIN lookup it lists Dual

WOW... I nice priced it but I did not see that BS disclaimer. That should be illegal... absolutely ridiculous.
