There’s two things banks do now days:

Also watch loan costs.
I had a big national bank lender offer really good used car rates... it was like 2.09%, but it had a high loan FEE. Well the reason the loan FEE is a big deal is because it actually raised the effective APR to 3.49. Now this is still a really good rate in today’s world, but if you pay back early,…
But it came like that from the factory...
Fortunately I was able to slide out before i got crushed, but it was a tight squeeze. It was sinking slowly enough that I didn’t notice at first until i started getting stuck by the car coming down, but by then it was far enough down that I was equally scared to get out because at least my head was in a cavity. I’m…
I hate test driving cars.
if I test drive 3 cars, then I will hate whichever one I buy.
if I test drive 0, its the best car I’ve ever owned and its a wonderful car... haha.
Seriously though, I tried test driving once and it sucked... “I like the steering feel of this car, the power of this car, and the infotainment…
I buy all my cars sight unseen. Whats the big concern? you have pictures and can gauge the condition...
I just make sure I either have an inspection clause or a return clause in there... and the two times I couldn’t do that, I paid for a PPI from an indy.
All have gone well.
I’m still stuck......
ha! fortunately it was a 80s car so there was room underneath it so I wasn’t technically crushed... if it was a 2" ground clearance car of today, I would have been in trouble!
fortunately, I have a driveway and garage now days... that was about 20 years ago ;)
But yes, there are other thins you can do- pavers is a good idea. plywood, I’d be hesitant about but I’m sure a 2x8 would do it.
My 1979 Car had a different kind of jack that looked like this:
Funny fact. The only time I ever got pinned under a car it was because my jack stands sunk in the mud while I was under it. Scary as heck.
I know people say to use concrete, but some of us don’t have any concrete!
Around here, most gas stations only have one diesel fueling spot.
I think tesla owners should park there while they go inside and get their drinks...
well not really because being a tool is lame, whether your in a truck or a tesla... but the idea is a little amusing.

As odd as this sounds, most LOW END car washes (Self Serves with auto bays) do NOT use recycled water!
Bad for the environment, maybe, but good for your car.
In addition, most operate as long as its above 5 degrees or so...
So I recommend going to those....
Not to mention on some cars I was passionate about, I could post 20 times, and other cars I voted without reading a word :)
CapX?
I own real estate. It costs a lot more than you imagine.
For example, iny our scenario- What about interest?
Ok so a million dollar property, would cost about $7,222 a month in payments, or $86,664. 25k of that would get recouped in principal..l but thats a $60k interest expense.
You have to repave the road... or…
Thats what they are trying to do!
When they were hitting repair shops in my area, thats exactly what the owners I work with said- “We can’t wait 2 days for parts”.
So they built a local warehouse and now offer 1 hour delivery on all car parts, fluids, etc. to the area shops... now they get 2 hour delivery, 364 days a…
How many people actually see the bottles?
Most car dealerships don’t even use OEM oils- they use a bulk provider such as Amazon- but people coming to the dealership don’t even know to ask!
They just get the “oil change” special, or pay an extra $40 bucks for synthetic...
Bulk oils, I agree, but has anyone confirmed that…
Amazon is going into parts supply contracts with indy shops across the nation using same day delivery with intermediary warehouses.
I really don’t think they care to sell YOU oil. They care to sell your neighborhood auto repair shops...
Doesn’t Warren Oil make Walmarts in house brand now? Thats everything I read...
Where do you think the local quick oil change and repair shops get their oil? seriously?
Amazon isn’t going for gearheads, its going for your local quick oil change and repair shops...
The part of this that you are missing Jason is that Amazon is pouring a ton of money NOT in selling to consumers, but in disrupting the automotive parts supply chain.
This “Amazon Basics” oil isn’t here to ship to you, its here to ship to the independent repair shops.
I work in the industry, and the Amazon team is…
