I love trucks for these reason:

- Place to put my dogs
- Place to put my lawnmower
- Place to put dirty clothes
- Place to put my kids bikes to take them to a park.

Just because you don’t need to do “truck things” doesn’t mean you can’t appreciate the truck

I agree.

In year 1 they will sell a good amount. Then sales will disappear and no one will seem to know why, and then it won’t get carried over to the future.

On the contrary, its the reason I love events like Chumpcar and Lemons... and today I do white collar racing. I’m not saying its “cool”, just saying in a lot of competitive racing events (like any sports), its the same way. Think of things like Inflategate in football and stuff like that... over the PRESSURE OF A

Don’t belittle autocrossers... There’s a lot of top racing talent that bred in autocross.

I do compete in autocross now days, but used to run Road Racing in SCCA, Chumpcar, and NASA. :)

Lemons and Chumpcar are the greatest things to ever come about in racing...

Its like a giant parody, but its actually a ton of fun and oddly very competitive.

There’s something missing fom that quote: “exotic fuels not allowed”

I tried to look it up but the website is blocked. It appears to spell out that “exotic fuels are not allowed” however!

I’ve run a few events... it was pretty fun!

It does take skill. Saying its only 10% is by far an exaggeration, so I will acknowledge that wholly!

@ManicDan

When I read my post to you I realize I sound like I’m being a jerk to you, and when I went back to edit it I couldn’t... just wanted to weigh in on counterpoints to your thoughts. Didn’t mean to come off as a jerk about it, so sorry!

Happy Jaloping!

I wont call it tactful or polite, but “well technically” is a term I hear way too often in the scoring box...

So i don’t disagree with you, but I also would probably be “ that guy” to try to get him disqualified for breaking the rules.

I mean heck people get their trophies stripped AFTER an event when its discovered

Many racing events I’ve been a part of will let anyone race, and rely on other racers to cry fowl about classing and modifications violations....

So I’m not sure if its really on the organizers.

I agree. No one said electricity is not a fuel except jalopnik. All references say its not an “approved fuel” which frankly is a legitimate argument. You think if I ran nitromethane, people would cry fowl? probably.

clearly you dont race...

You can order doors as an option per the website

The 5k chinese version should follow shortly. That is worth it... almost throw away money.

well stated.

I disagree.

I think there are few better cars than this you could drive for $25k over 2-3 years.

Can someone explain why they can’t?

The Fiero was mid engine and its cheap.
Todays Budget cars under $20k have dual clutch gearboxes.
Turbos are in 21k cars.

So if you can make a cheap mid engine, a cheap dual clutch car, and a cheap turbo car, why does all of a sudden that mean its got to add $110,000 to the price of a

The first corvette was $3490.. You can’t get a corvette for TEN TIMES that amount today ;)

Odd... I know lots of caddy owners who also own vettes... including myself.... although I sold my vette and bought a ferrari, and sold my caddy and bought a porsche.
