I HATE THAT. dont want my headlights on just becaus eI put the wipers on... If I need both on, I’ll turn both on!

Just as bad as my wife’s porsche which has a heated steering wheel that is automatic and you can’t turn it off. I get sweaty palms and it makes me miserable...

Actually, there’s always been two versions.

The current Santa Fe XL used to be the Full size santa fe, which used to be the Veracruz.

The New Santa Fe used to be the mid size Santa Fe Sport, which used to be the Santa Fe.

So the really confusing part is just that Hyundai decided to switch back and forth as to which car

The psychology of this stuff is insane.

I was just reading an article questioning if the new Santa Fe is better or worse looking than the Hyundai Veracruz.

This was in 2012, and in 2018 the Veracruz looks like a mundane blob of nothingness.

But in 2012, evidently the new modern santa fe which most everyone seems to like

I’m all for “Brake Detection WARNING”, like cars started having in the early 2010's where it dings at you when somethings getting in your way.

I say just add that and ignore the auto braking piece, especially as many bikers have referenced, typically braking is the WORST thing you can do in those situations.

That would be a great motorcycle. then they could throw in Air Conditioning, a better sound system, more comfortable seats, better sound isolation... it would be a great evolution in technology.

some day they may even add AWD, lift it a few inches for a better view of the road, add in a 3rd row to carry more people,

I wholly agree. Having it in my car has thrown me off sometimes doing things like changing lanes... having things like that happen on 2 wheels would have killed me many times over.

It may be fine on a goldwing, but on any sport bike, cruiser, dual sport, or anything else its probably going to earn the name “suicide

Yes? That is what I said and what I agree with. I think 911s are the best bang for the buck and there’s no better value.... but even if its a good value, you still have to be able to afford it.

I don’t believe corvettes are a viable alternative to exotics for most buyers, but the 911 is. Don’t get me wrong- I like

That was supposed to be toungue in cheek. I’m a porsche owner, and recall the fallout of the 996 because of the switch to water cooling ;)

The definition of conquest when used in the auto industry is to steal a customer from another make.

So when someone says that Tesla has a high conquest rate of McLarens, what they are suggesting is that Tesla is taking business from McLaren.

My wife for example, bought a Porsche Cayenne. We traded in a Corvette to buy

Corvette is the Practical alternative for people who make < 90k/yr
911 is the practical alternative for people who make > 90k/yr

How’s that?

Yes. the design team deserves an award.

If you can make one design that requires a few bucks in redesign every 5 years but otherwise lasts for generations. You deserve a massive award.

Other companies go through full scale redesigns every few years...

I heard they may be going to air cooled engines.

I own a porsche and this idea did cross my mind once. I figured I could spend $250 on weird tweaks to my car, cover it in black leather, take spy shots of it, and put the pics up for auction.

I’d never claim it really was a new version of the car, and I’d never lie... but I’m sure the going price of those pics could be

No one buys Porsche 911s for the looks.

IMHO they buy it because its the best bang for the buck. I know so many 911 owners who buy it because there is no better value. Its timeless, classic, and darn good performing. Its maintenance is reasonable ,and it lasts a long time. Its a good durable PRACTICAL exotic.

No one

Here’s the issue I have with this. The people who buy the McLarens, Lotus, Ferrari, etc. don’t just have ONE car, they have multiple cars.

So a trade in doesn’t mean conquest, it means for many- the opportunity to skip paying sales tax on a new car and an easier way to unload an exotic before buying something else.

NPCP sometimes turns into a “should I buy this”.

I think we need a subforum for all the people considering buying this to hash it out.

I don’t know if its an NP or CP, but I had to vote NP because I’d seriously consider buying it. The color is right- I’m sick of so many lame color sports cars and exotics, its slim

Am I the only one who often sleeps in their car over night?

I like this a lot.

I really wanted a rambox for a 5th wheel, since you can’t cover the bed with a 5th wheel. While some people have them, my understanding is you can’t use a sliding 5th wheel hitch... and I’m not going to use a non-sliding 5th wheel hitch...

Now playing

Similar things are pretty prevalent. When it comes down to it though I think there’s less “room” there than most people think, and if you are going to “eat” into the interior bed space, you might as well do it like the Rambox or the Titan interior box.

However, there’s a number of other examples that are fairly elegant.

When I got in a car accident I made sure I asked all the shops I was investigating if they report damage to Carfax.

I of course, chose the shop that didn’t.

I included receipts for the repair when I sold the car and was up front about it, but I knew “clean carfax” is more important than “clean car” to a lot of buyers.
