Regarding the socks in summer thing - we went to the shoe store for sandals and the clerk haughtily told us that children MUST wear socks even in summer because they sweat 2-3 cups, per foot, each day. It is disgusting. However, I don’t accept store clerk’s judgement for summer shoes. With sandals the sweat just leaks…
