The repairs of a car over 10 years could easily exceed it’s value at the end of 10 years lol.

In theory.”

It’s like someone looked at my lifestyle, my residence, my daily routine and said “Hey - let’s build a vehicle for that guy.”  So, of course, I want it.  Wonder what the odds are of them doing the PHEV / BEV treatment on it eventually.

The two door mock-up version is indeed absolutely awesome. I know this is a design article but can we also just take a moment to reflect on this thing having 275hp? Hyundai could’ve probably gotten away with giving it barely 180hp and I still think it’d sell well but 275 is just craziness and I am 100% here for it.

Hyundai’s design team have been killing it for a hot minute.

It’s more like 90% in the urban areas.

It saddens me that many off-roaders seem to take the lands that they wheel on for granted. It gives the whole hobby a bad name, and I definitely understand why the locals don’t want to deal with it whatsoever.

Honestly? Most people into this I know are respectful of others and the land. And try to leave things at least as good as the found them.

Counterpoint, our local Utah Toyota Offroad group is fantastic. We sponsor public trail clean-ups and maintenance, teach proper land-use and techniques, and correct anyone who posts about misusing land.

I grew up in Vermont and I don’t think most people are understanding what Class 4 Roads actually are.

While the Class 4 roads are public roads, the town doesn’t want to deal with off-roaders and any potential shenanigans and damage.

The van it replaces came out in 2012 and has a 3/5 euroncap score. Weird comment since it’ll probably be safer then any ecotec car you’re driving.

Is the low belt-line coming back in style? It’s past due. Especially for SUVs, Vans, and trucks. Now lets see if we can get rid of those ridiculous high hoods on all the new trucks. I like to see forward.

Throw up a bunch of solar panels and charging stations and now you have pretty self sufficient stops. Getting fuel out to those remote places requires pipes or trucks to get there, but solar just takes it from the sky above. Right now those places are not EV friendly, but they dont have to be that way.

No doubt. The progress made in ICE development has been amazing over that time. Hell, even over the past 2o years.

Rail can be impacted by inclement weather too. Instead of white knuckling it through a blizzard driving, you might just find your train cancelled and yourself stranded.

America isn’t ready for this kind of action because America has spent decades making excuses for why we can’t have trains instead of just building trains.

America is not really ready for this kind of action.

Europe is small in relation to the area covered in the US. I could not see this happening in the US (or in Canada).

1st Gear: I’ll be intensely interested to see what the impact of remote working tools is on business travel post-COVID, which may have a similar impact. “This trip should have been a Teams meeting” is likely to be the new “this meeting should have been an email.”

But yeah, you’re right. We don’t have the infrastructure
