AI rivals crypto mining as the biggest waste of electricity and compte power.  There's also the water use issue.  Google's data center in The Dalles is already controversial for its water use and the slightly shady deal with the local government to hide water use as a "trade secret". 

This week I have received over half a dozen calls on my work phone from an AI powered call center looking to update our company info for a trade magazine.

Not content to simply poison the online world, they also have to destroy the offline.

AI and crypto mining are destroying the world while providing no meaningful benefit to society. Gotta love it.

I quite literally had to debunk in real time when I saw a friend posted shite like this online. Like, a 2 second google search proved him wrong and he still was trying to say it happened. It’s bonkers. 

Shit it’s not even just fitting in the spot, being able to SEE to even get out is almost impossible if your not driving a jacked up bro dozer.

You know, it shows amazing restraint that the government of California doesn’t just sue these folks for defamation. It’s a pretty airtight case, right? Typically the government as an entity can’t be defamed, but you could pretty clearly outline harm to individual employees.

Actually more and more modern hybrids are made to run on battery only whenever possible (low speed with enough charge). I borrowed my MIL’s Sienna recently to move something and found that it would run on battery only when I drove below 35MHP and didn’t stomp the gas.
