Nope, basically what Bungie did was screenshot your Destiny 1 account on August 1st. They copied appearances and Legacy stuff and applied it to Destiny 2. All your Destiny 1 stuff is unchanged as you are still able to go back and play D1 if you want to at any time.

They linked your unlocks to your Bungie account. You can delete your imported character and remake them and will still have all the benefits of being a Destiny 1 player. I did that this morning and I still got my Feat of Strength emblems.
