JOSH!
JOSH!
Since time works differently in the Neitherlands and the real world, a few days for Julia and Quentin doesn't really matter much. They needed to build that in a bit.
I laughed when I realized Narnia was on.
Kady used battle magic against the Beast in the classroom. Later, Quentin mimicked her action and used it against Penny, though it backfired.
They also mentioned Quentin's depression and the worry that him magically screwing with his emotions could make him suicidal.
She'd fit right into Quentin's dream.
He is falling apart, and he can't even confide in his best friend about it.
I find myself very, very worried about Eliot.
Maybe you need the help of Joe the Swiss Army Knife.
I was proud of myself for calling the Gin/Djinn twist, which I realize is a silly thing to admit. Also, the Djinn's eyes were creeping me out a lot.
I couldn't stop thinking about how many germs were on that knob and how I hope he disinfected his entire self after.
I also loved the forest royalty aesthetic they had going during the Teamwork! trial.
"Is someone being creepy on purpose?" was so endearing.
I cannot believe how attracted I am to Penny. PENNY.
I fully grinned when Quentin turned into a goose. I really thought we might lose Brakebills South in this adaptation.
Yes! And I really love that it came back again this week. I'd assumed it was just a cute character moment for both him and Penny, but having it actually weave into the bigger story was a clever choice.
I have to say, Jason Ralph is really impressing me. I'm finding screen Quentin much more tolerable (and even likable!) thank page Quentin.
I really liked the staging of his first scene in the doctor's office and how it looked exactly like the scene where he was (nearly) expelled. Reflecting the real world in his nightmare fantasy was good way to subconsciously convince him it was all a dream.
I found Quentin peeking out from behind the tree to be weirdly endearing.
The Scott Christmas Carol is a part of my family's Thanksgiving tradition. The way Marley's jaw drops open when he unties the cloth around his head has creeped me out since I was a very small child.
