The 760Li wasn’t $150k 10 years ago, closer to $120. I tried looking on auto trader, there are are only a handful listed in the 2005-2008 range. They’re actually cheaper that the QP, though they all are around 100k miles, while a sub 60k mile 2005 QP still won’t go for more than $30k.

Just more reason it’ll depreciate. That and it looks just like the 60-ish grand Ghibli

This guy. You can pick up a ‘05 or ‘06 for under $30k. That’s about 70% depreciation in 10 years, 10 more and if you can find one that’s still running I’m sure it’ll be much worse.

I’m not super convinced. The GT50 looked just like a 1960’s race car, a extremely famous and accomplished one, with a fantastic story behind it. Not to mention a extremely reasonable price tag to start with.

The 300 is much more of a Rolls Royce rip off than Bently:

Totally agree. This is what I nominated last time this question was posted:

I mean you were the one who called it a substantial feature....

Did you seriously just link a wikipedia article to a colloquialism as evidence that apple won't be charging for CarPlay? Im sorry, but I feel this is more convincing:

There is zero evidence you will pay anything for it. Pioneer released FREE firmware updates for some of their aftermarket head units to include carplay. As in Pioneer is providing a free update, which includes carplay, so you can get it for FREE if you have a Pioneer head unit. Why would they do that if they'er paying

In what way does it affect you? How does a piece of software, which isn't running, affect you? Or are we talking in some weird emotion existential way?

I would rather pay say $20 bucks for a car with carplay and android auto, so I can use my phone for navigation on my head unit, than pay $2000 for the automakers shitty implementation. Although there's currently no evidence they're charging for it, that's just your assumption.

Okay, assuming that there was some standard they could adopt that worked with all phones, they should provide that. However considering neither google nor apple have any plans to develop and release software their competitors can use.... both of these pieces of software are a MASSIVE improvement over the

That's the thing, there aren't a huge number of variables. The majority of cars sold today run a kernel called QNX, which is what Carplay/Android Auto/Mirrorlink all run on. Here's a press release by QNX, who is affiliated with blackberry:

Also just to clear the air, android auto does not allow app developers currently to publish their apps:

My point is just, it could happen that an OEM chooses not to put android auto on their device, thus "hardly Apples fault". Seeing as Hyundai already sells cars with both, like you said, apple is not strong arming out android auto, I totally agree.

Okay, so now you're not going to address any other complaint you had other than the price of a charger you don't need to use? This discussion has completely walked away from carplay at this point, it's now just apple bashing.

How does android decide any more than apple what you can and can't listen to? Or are you speaking specifically about Android Auto vs Carplay? In which case... there's nothing preventing car makers from installing both on top of their existing QNX software. Like Hyundai has already done... If you don't like that, you

You can already buy a car from Hyundai which has Android Auto and Carplay. There is nothing preventing auto makers from running both apps on their existing head unit software.
