If what you mean by doomed is continue to succeed until the foreseeable future.... then yep.

Plus that way, if you really want to haggle down the price, go to a lot where you have arguing power. But for a customized new car, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to just pick it out online.

Or just online purchasing/financing with delivery. Go to manufacturer website, spec your car, get a delivery estimate, finance, hit buy, ??? profit.

+1.

The last car I bought was from a consignment dealership. I went there a saturday, took a look at the car, gave it a test drive, and asked if the seller could offer it at $15k out the door. Then headed home and waited for the dealer to check with the owner.

I didn't say it was the ONLY reason! lol.

Haha, try pressing it 2-3 times, i bet you it'll let you. My Moms suburban bongs if you try it, but press again and it obliges.

I mean.... i thought of it in about 5 seconds and I'm not at all a car designer. Hopefully one of the worlds largest car manufacturers figured it out lol.

You own a car without a key fob. If your car requires you to manually lock the doors, it's usually easier to do it from inside the car. (Either with the lock button, or just flicking the lock).

aaaannnnnnndddd THAT thinking is why they have $600k to spend on a car.

This is just talking the cost argument.... there's plenty to say on wether the technology is actually useful or not, but that's a different discussion for sure.

Meh. I had a 2003 focus, as basic as possible, the key however apparently had a transponder. Ford wanted about $150 bucks for a copy. Note, this isn't a fob, or a car that even had electric locks, it was just a plain jane looking key that happened to have a transponder embedded in the plastic molding.

"the proximity key could require a constant handshake to keep the car running, so if someone accidentally walks out with your keys, the car will stop, and you'll know."

I used to think that if I ever had more money than I knew what to do with, and wanted a hypercar, I'd get a Koenigsegg. Now however I'm pretty sure it'd be the Noble M600.

Oh wow, I thought you were being serious.

Idk what cars you're looking at, they're not twins.

It's close.

Oh Morgan, you are so cool.... and also so hipster. I feel a little bad for knowing what a brooks saddle is, and a little worse for thinking that bike on this car is totally cool.

Yep, that was my first thought, not to mention the lettering has that etched look...

"Remember, that's a hatchback with a 2.0-liter turbo four good for 360 horsepower with all-wheel-drive. I think it sounds pretty hot"
