Well, yeah, kinda. But it wasn’t unprovoked. He was asked about his stance on diversity, so I don’t think it’s out of bounds for him to give evidence of his stance. If he didn’t, they’d just be (potentially) empty words, right?
It sounds like he actually knows where the problem of diversity needs to be addressed to make the biggest impact: behind the camera.
