I wrap my neck in a soaked microfiber towel and am cool as a cucumber for about an hour - enough to get out of the city and moving on the back roads. If I lived in the desert, I’d have a couple ready to go and a water bottle to resoak the one I’m not using.  I love the desert, but it can hurt you fast.
