This “darkest timeline” interpretation of an employer trying to protect their employee has amused me to no end.

Aww, Thank you:D

What danger? This is one performance that didn’t take place in a career that will have thousands more of them if it isn’t cut short. There’s a world of difference between introducing one performer and performing numerous skits. For one thing you can bet that they knew he wasn’t armed just by having to dress and make

FFS, he wasn’t fired. His employer made a caring decision not to require him to slap on a fake smile and make other people laugh while he should be taking care of himself. I think him introducing Miley Cyrus was just to show concerned viewers that he was alive and well. No one is taking anything from him. He is being

As someone who actually works in mental health, primarily with people who are hospitalized due to threats of harm towards others or themselves, Pete got off LIGHT. People are involuntarily hospitalized for less, and once in, it is very, very difficult to get out. It sounds like he is being surrounded by support - I

I’m not sure you can say with certainty “they took his choice away” unless you were there. It’s possible Lorne or others sat down with him and asked if he felt he’d be able to perform, and offered him an option to sit out and take it easy. Knowing they had his back and would find a way to cover for him may have been

He wasnt cut from sketches because he has BPD, it was because hes suicidal and unstable. A similar thing happened with Darrell Hammond. His mental health is the priority, not sketches (which he missed rehearsals for anyway). Youre trying to create a problem where there isnt one

How in the world do you know what his choices were? Maybe he was relieved he didn’t have to go on live tv in front of millions of people and make jokes and pretend everything was fine.

Imagine showing up for work after making a suicidal statement publically, doing a presentation while pretending that you are fine and everyone ignores the problem. Then going home and killing yourself after which everyone questions why the hell your workplace didn’t do more.

I see both sides to this and don’t have an actual opinion.

I completely agree. All emotions removed,.. Lorne isn’t stupid. He knows Pete is bankable and he’s not going to kick him off the show. He just wants him to be reliable and the best way to have a reliable cast member is to make sure said cast member gets healthy.
Emotions not removed... I deal with similar thoughts on a

The thing is that Davidson had tweeted something that sounded suicidal earlier in the day. Not letting him go on live television and in front of an audience was a wise decision. What would you be writing if he decided to kill himself on air and hundreds of people then decided to follow his example?

I have BPD and it is the fucking worst. I’m medicated and I have an excellent GP. But I still have major issues. Earlier this year I attempted suicide. It was my first attempt in over 6 years. It wasn’t a cry for help. I ended up with major tendon damage and in hospital for some time.

General professional opinion is that someone with BPD (not in recovery) isn’t functioning at a high enough level to manipulate, but certainly the *behavior* feels manipulative. Suicide threats in BPD can be a desperate attempt to maintain social connections and have needs met, since the person with BPD doesn’t have

I’m just a Nobody, but I’ve been thinking about Pete constantly. No one knows his struggle the way he does but I can empathize. I hope he finds the help he needs. I’m in the process of finding my own help and I envy the friends he has that have his back. He is so lucky and I hope he sees that, through the darkness.

I would like to see the Trumpspawn banned from every British kingdom and former British colony. Those assholes could never go anywhere again.

It gives all us children-of-narcissists a comments section to commiserate in.

It is the absolute epitome of a “reach”.

Only the second worst ghost dad.
