I’ve been following The Root’s coverage of this story for many days now and from the comments I keep seeing I can’t help but feel as though you’ve cultivated a readership that:

being a fucking moron isn’t a mental illness.

Yeah it’s so fucking brave to be a bigot and latch onto one of the oldest forms of hate in history. Such a trendsetting free-thinker. It’s really easy not to be a bigot, but some people are just assholes who try to justify why their hate for an entire group is justified.

So bigotry is fine, as long as it’s not directed toward you?

Why don’t you read up on him or watch the HBO doc about him before you make statement like that. He has earned that right, and the fact that a grown ass man, Hall of Famer, civil rights icon can be a bore to you is very telling.

Davenport, Iowa is the south?

Haters will argue that it’s too soon to add Staley’s name to the list of GOATs that includes Mike Krzyzewski, whose career was ended with a loss to North Carolina on Saturday, John Wooden, the king of kings of NCAA coaches, Georgetown’s Big John Thompson, the late, great Pat Summitt and U-Conn’s Geno Auriemma, whose

The idea the Bucs did him dirty flies in the face of all the evidence.

1. You can be cut for almost anything at anytime in the NFL. The Bucs wouldn’t need to manufacture some controversy to cut AB (and how could they manufacture him storming off the field and leaving the stadium anyways?)

2. AB was on a cheap, 1-year

I don’t think there was any ‘master plan’ by AB here. I think it was largely impulsive. Does his ankle hurt? Probably. Was he mad about not getting enough targets/yards/tds? Almost definitely. I think most of all, he was mad they were losing to the Jets. I just don’t see an endgame for him here I guess.

Things smart/innocent people do:

JFC can the government pay him to tell everyone to get vaccinated or some shit? What the fuck is wrong with people?

“I’m just grateful” says the person in a predicament that could have easily been avoided entirely.

When it comes to this guy and whether if he has learned his lessons from this tragedy (enough to change the way he performs on tour/in concerts), I am cynical. A part of my instincts is telling me that Travis is currently walking-the-walk and talking-the-talk until he believes media has “gotten over” the incident.

No because unlike last year’s Super Bowl they won’t have a shitty offensive line and nonexistent defense.

Uh Tom Brady doesn’t subscribe to that notion or the officials, who have spent the better part of now two decades protecting him and his defense, not subscribe to it. To not call DPI on Stefon Diggs when he was mugged in the end zone is just the latest in a long line of favors the men in stripes have done for him over

Somewhere Jared Goff is cackling maniacally.

I’m also surprised Stewart didn’t get more. Like you said, what LeBron did was aggressive, but definitely a basketball play and it doesn’t look like there’s any intent to give Stewart a cheap shot.

You could tell Lebron did not intend to hurt Stewart at all. It looks like he tried to shake him off, aggressively yes, and it was just bad timing, angle, all of it was a bad coincidence. He went up to him immediately to apologize and then Stewart decided to be the Hulk instead. Lebron may have started it, Stewart is

“helping the country in additional ways”
