Adding my 2 cents to your stats comments, the season isn’t even 1/3 of the way done, so anyone focusing too hard on stats right now just doesn’t have a big enough sample size to really craft a true narrative.

AD could clearly play, though, and there wasn’t a team that wouldn’t have taken him. Nobody wants to pay the NBA’s second-highest salary to someone who adds very little value to the team. If they did, Houston would have traded him. The fact that they still have him - despite the fact that they have publicly said he’s

Unless everyone in Houston’s front office is a fool, they’d play him if they thought it would improve his trade value.

if Federer or Nadal had such a quoteworthy and cringeworthy freakout, wouldn’t we hear about it?

I’m also surprised Stewart didn’t get more. Like you said, what LeBron did was aggressive, but definitely a basketball play and it doesn’t look like there’s any intent to give Stewart a cheap shot.

And while it’s unclear what exactly Kanter’s end game is, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before his warpath makes another unnecessary enemy instead of forging alliances to aid his cause.

That definitely played a role. Aside from a couple decent seasons, the whole FleetCenter era may as well be flushed down the drain, if you’ll forgive the awful pun.

So will Rittenhouse pen a book called “If it Wasn’t Self Defense” where he explains what he’d do if he wanted to maliciously gun down protestors, a book that is pretty much just a retelling of the actual events that happened.

I mean, this is what happens when you name your arenas and stadiums after sponsors. Brands don’t last forever.

I don’t have a dog in the crypto fight, so to speak, but historically speaking, currency has typically only had value because people agree that it does.

This probably isn’t a popular take, but it kind of seems like “mental health issues” have been a convenient way for people to weasel out of something they don’t want to do.

Exactly. And honestly, for as much shit as Gruden gets (deserved), he’s a pretty big name in the NFL, so it makes me think that the people who benefit from him being the scapegoat are pretty high up.

When the Gruden news first broke, there was a report that came across the bottom of ESPN that said something like “NFL has confirmed that only Gruden sent racially insensitive emails.”

As far as I know, Ben never misled anyone into thinking he was vaccinated while not actually being vaccinated. I could be incorrect, but I never read anything like that.

Virtue signaling is the only one I could see being insulting. To me, I associate it with people or brands who talk about stuff like racial justice, but don’t put any actions behind their words. Or even worse, their actions stand in contrast with their words.

Alec Baldwin’s situation is closely analogous.

RAtM is great. That will be an awesome show.

You’re right, that foul, in a vacuum, didn’t warrant the response Jokic had. And he’s right to acknowledge that.

Yeah, this is the right take. The fact is, Travis Scott is responsible for 8 people dying. No he didn’t outright murder them, but he made a series of decisions that resulted in 8 people losing their lives.

Also, the hardcore punk band Fugazi was pretty well known for their stance on excessive rowdiness at concerts and were known to stop shows, have security throw people out, and ban people from seeing them again when people stepped over the line.
