This is the answer. it’s not the miles that make clear coats from this era fall off. it’s a 25 year old car. it wouldn’t even have to have lived outside to need a respray.

Paint on Japanese cars from this era don’t seem to handle the elements too well. In SoCal, where it’s not uncommon to see cats from the 70s used as dailies, the majority of them run around with the clear coat falling apart. I know from firsthand experience, our ‘91 Integra started to peel pretty quickly when parked

That first one would be a unicorn. They never had a V6 with a manual.

They did in fact make v6 manual sedans/coupes. Just no v6 manual wagons (at least stateside).

Yea, the article is funny. It starts out all sunshine and happiness and then 75% of the way in, the terrifying truth is revealed.

Let’s think about this. What if there’s someone who just wants a car. They don’t need anything fancy or new, They don’t need anything with touch screens or 48 position seats or 20" wheels. Honestly, if they could be any less noticeable, they would be invisible. All they want is a car to start every morning and just

If this were all sorted out, this would be all sorts of fun. With that rather long list of electrical issues, this is all sorts of RUN THE FUCK AWAY!

If I were a billionaire I would daily-drive a Bugatti Royale.

My Suburban has basically the same engine with 300,000 HARD miles and it still works like new. I wouldn’t worry at all about 165k on this one.

I’m just saying, there’s a right answer here

When I was in college, a friend of mine’s brother had an SLP Camaro. He borrowed his brother’s car one weekend and took a couple of us for a ride and let us have turns driving it. It was a sweet car, and the performance was no joke. If I was at a point in my life where I could justify dropping 13 large on a muscle

Yeah, I’m not seeing $23k worth of improvements to the standard $43k base Transit, which itself is already more expensive than it should be, considering it used to start at $32k back in 2020.

I happily drive a Chevy Sonic hatchback. It’s perfect for my needs. The day I brought it home, I packed away the package shelf and folded the rear seats down, and I don’t think I’ve had to raise them up since.  I’ve hauled a surprising amount of stuff back there with my recent move, and son’t think I’ve missed any

$66k for a “blank slate” just reminds me that there are a lot of people with a lot more money than I have.

A lighter/smaller truck with 400hp sounds a lot more fun than gigantic truck with 700hp IMO

Cops gotta have their affairs somewhere.

So did they ban the purchase of RCMP or other LEO decals? You know what made it actually look like a cop car? Crown Vics as well as Dodge Chargers are available in Canada and so are all of the add ons to make it look like a Police cruiser,

This truck will probably be bought by some asshole who gets a little thrill every time other drivers react like he’s a real cop. That’s a shame, because at $13k I think you have a pretty good base for an overlanding rig or other adventure vehicle. Nice price.

Everything about this is gloriously, idiotically, catastrophically American and I love it.

I’m in the NP camp with further validation of points of concern, and a thorough pre-purchase inspection.

I think this would be a good subject for Hoovie’s Garage.
