My initial thought was that the rotary makes all it’s power up close to redline.. And it’s pretty flat until it gets to that last 2000 rpm. Are you really gonna be flooring it all the way along the trail?

Rotaries are far from unreliable, you just have to maintain them and realize they burn some oil as part of their design.
