Yeah I agree that Spielberg was a huge part of the problem although I’m inclined to put most of the blame on Lucas. From the behind the scenes stuff I’ve seen it seems like he was driving a lot of the terrible storytelling decisions (and wrote an early version of the script) and Spielberg deferred heavily to him when

I know it’s easy to snipe at Shia LaBoeuf but he was not the problem with Indiana Jones 4 and I don’t think you can really give him any of the blame for what a turd that movie was. He and Karen Allen were the only ones who seemed like they actually wanted to be making that movie.

You can’t take a ship through the suez canal without turning over control of it to an Egyptian crew (who you have to pay for and whose responsibility it is to take it safety through the canal) so idk how successful Egypt is going to be with this lawsuit lol. I’m sure it’s more complicated than that and is going to be

Oh yeah for sure, I assumed the guy was talking about a hardtail when he said $700, for full suspension there’s no way. Even for a basic hardtail it’s tough to find something under $1k and if you do you’re probably getting outdated tech like a 2x8 drivetrain when the entire industry has moved to 1x.

The guy in this article is really an outlier; most bike theft is by junkies who just sell them for $10 or use them for their own transportation. So the fact that your bike is a homebrew deathtrap doesn’t really offer any theft protection - no matter how shitty it is the bike chop shop will give the thief $10 so

Bike theft is a crime that the police simply don’t care about because it’s too hard to prove ownership. Just yesterday I saw a homeless guy towing a shopping cart full of cans behind a $1,500 bike...can’t prove he didn’t buy it so it’s his now.

Honestly $700 is the bare minimum you can spend to get a proper mountain bike that’s not wal-mart quality. My road bike has entry level everything as I just use it for commuting and still cost $1k.  People have no idea how much bikes cost because they stopped riding when they were 10 years old.

Meanwhile in Canada I’m months away from being able to schedule my first dose.

The takes about CUVs around here are seriously into “old man yells at cloud” territory lol. We get it grandpa, CUV = bad, sedan = good.

I don’t know, I think Vin Diesel is at least somewhat justified in his worry that they were going to push him out and make the franchise entirely about The Rock. There’s no way the studio wouldn’t be elated if The Rock, not Diesel, was the headliner of this franchise.

So it was forgettable just because it didn’t have as big of an impact on our pop culture as Jurassic Park or fucking Star Wars? lol, I guess by that standard there’s like one movie every couple of decades that makes any pop culture mark.

I didn’t violently despise it but came out feeling that Rian Johnson isn’t nearly as clever as he thinks he is.

I mean, if you don’t think that Avatar had an impact on our pop culture you just weren’t paying attention.  It massively shaped the way blockbusters are made.

Also I imagine that those people have already been paid in full so it really doesn’t impact them all that much if this doesn’t get released.

Yeah exactly, why do I have to watch horrendously garish de-aging in practically everything if they’re not going to use the technology when it actually makes sense?

>McKinnon admittedly resembled Holmes a lot more than Seyfried, but maybe if Seyfried can get the frazzled facial expressions and weird, low voice down, she could be a convincing Holmes.

Can you link to a source for that? In the comics he and both his parents are always drawn as lily white and the comic is quite good about representation generally so it’s odd that him apparently being asian never comes up.  Reminds me of JK Rowling saying that Dumbledore is gay yet never mentioning it in any of the

She wasn’t in the comics but if they’re changing it for the animated series then that’s cool
