Yep. I’m a fan of Noah Baumbach. I really like The Meyerowitz Stories. It’s one of like two or three Sandler movies I can stomach. But who the fuck knows if it’ll ever be on disc? At least Marriage Story got a Criterion Blu.

While it’s certainly not the motivation for the majority of them it is a useful side-effect.

That’s really not relevant or germane to the discussion. It takes nothing away from the fact that, if not for piracy, most games would simply vanish into the ether once they reached the end of their immediate commercial viability.

Pirates saved the entire 16bit generation.

The argument is not that they aren’t stealing the game (which honestly can vary depending on how exactly you define what makes someone a pirate;) it’s that down the line, they are the often the sole reason a game still exists in a playable state as well.

Context clues, bub.

Yes, preservation.

Little case study for you:
I own Silent Hill Origins for the PSP, digitally, on PSN.

Honestly its more then just that these days. My son recently wanted to get into a table top wargame and my wife and I have Warmachine/Hordes. Our stuff is mostly the first and second edition of the game and somehow between the last two moves we lost some of the rule books and the model cards.

It’s wild that so many old games only exist and are playable now thanks to people uploading them to the net and building emulators/tools to keep them alive.

Yes, that’s why it’s the best-selling game of 2023, has over 5000 positive user reviews on Steam written in the past 30 days and had a significant increase in average player count within the last 30 days. Yup, definitely suggests that it’s a mediocre game that nobody cares about.

She has called for the eradication of a group of people. She is below shit, as is anyone who defends her.

Sure, it’s the anti-genocide people who are hateful, not the monsters like JKR who are trying to eradicate trans people from existence.

Imagine if you devoted 1/10th of the energy you expended defending a billionaire on anything else. Like, for example, the people she brazenly wishes to disenfranchise.

The game was Arkham reskinned for Harry Potter, and the world-building in particular was breathtaking. As for J.K. Rowling, she is a piece of shit. Can’t deny that the woman created one of the best-selling franchises of all times though. I look at it like Michael Jackson, an even bigger piece of shit, but damn he made

Released in February 2023, Hogwarts Legacy wasn’t a hit with critics and ended up not winning many major awards.

0h ffs dude get a grip. It’s a game, so many people use that stupid murder porn phrase now it’s a joke.

“Got comfortable” and “Begrudgingly accepted the lack of alternatives” are two very different things.

The Part 2 twist will definitely not be as controversial on TV. Audiences of every other narrative medium other than games have long gotten used to that kind of story. The Red Wedding was a decade ago. People will get over the shock by the next morning.

Of the 30.75 million unites sold worldwide, over half (18~18.5 million) were sold in the US.

I’m sure that TLOU fandom and The Gamers(tm) will be incredibly normal, sane, and react with measure and reasonability to this news as well as the new season since they have a history of deffinitely doing that.
