But it is Apple USB-C. An amazing new technological invention.

Anyone who’s tried to get a decades-old game to run on modern hardware has learned the hard way that many of these games were designed with a very specific framerate in mind, and once you crack the cap, the game breaks. When an engine is coded to run in sync to an expected frametime, uncapping the framerate will

Don’t get the issue here. increasing the frame rate to MGS1 would be bad and affect several game play mechanics, and boss fights.

Now them not optimising 2 and 3 for switch is inexcusable given these games are 22 and 19 years old respectively.

Yeah, I’m one of those people who can’t see high-end framerate differences at all, but 30 to 60 is a significant leap.  I compare it to SD/HD/UHD.  The jump from SD to HD was massive.  UHD is better, sure, but HD is fine.  I feel that way about anything over 60 FPS.  I just don’t see an improvement.  Under 60, though,

Imagine being such an idiot that a person would conflate pulling someone over for expired tags with a person stopping in a traffic lane to get out and hit another person’s car, as though those 2 circumstances are at all related.

I like to think this all happened due to me, as I saw the mod in question just after it was uploaded, laughed at the crybaby who made it, and reported it. Within an hour, it was gone.

I really hope Phil Spencer is over at Maryland, putting some his boot up the arse of Bethesda in order to get a new engine.

you know what, this is a fair counterpoint. it does take a while to max out skills in this game but in my early goings i found that even just one or two points into the above attributes does wonders for a melee-focused build. that said starfield is all about choosing your playstyle so really, whatever works for you :)

You make it painfully obvious that you have no idea how framerate works.

So - just bear with me now - what if I told you you could actually tell when your framerate drops without actually having to monitor the exact number? What if I also told you that it can be highly distracting when that happens?

I feel like needing 120 fps is ridiculous, personally (ditto for needing ultra high

Yeah. The dust. That’s the problem with a game engine that’s older than most of the commenters here.

Because basically only Bethesda games have pretty much every object in their world permenantly tracked and acting under this level of physics. Some games have a bit of physics, for a few objects here or there, hut no one does it like this

I see this a lot with Fallout 76, and it’s made me think that there’s no point in Bethesda considering adding in another DLC a la Steel Dawn/Steel Reign if they had been in the first place. The people who complain about no new content will speedrun it in two days or whatever and then go right back to complaining,

No judgment for how you choose to spend your free time, but maybe part of your issue is that you’re getting bored after averaging playing 9 hours a day for the past 6 days?

I think you are mistaking “cares about” with “can do something about”.

Older cars that are easily repairable with no advanced technology, paired with third party hardware (touch screen entertainment centers, cameras, etc) that can have their privacy policies independently verified are going to skyrocket in popularity. I’m working on upgrading a 2007 model with a 12 inch touchscreen

Yup, that’s an important clarification. The great things about FSR is that it’s card agnostic.

God of War Ragnarok had insane accessibility options. Especially when I couldn't fucking read anything in 2018's game. Also please Devs more options for mid-boss check points!

I consider it a mandatory “current-gen” feature now.

Lol unpopular opinion time, Hogwarts Legacy. I get why it’s not on the list, this is Kotaku, but I’d put it above at least half that list, Persona and Fire Emblem are meh.
