You clearly bring different emotional needs to storytelling than I do, and that’s fine. Accept the mystery and you’ll enjoy life more - far less crying out loud that way :)

I answered the question - you’re just not one of the people who are okay with any ambiguity in storytelling, and that’s fine. Everyone has different emotional needs that they bring to art/games/etc.

Many people are ok with that extremely slight ambiguity. And heck, if they did, kotaku would instead have an article about how the ending is too obvious or heavy handed. You’re not going to please everyone all the time, and video game writers have got to invent grist for the comment mill.

I thought the ending rocked and had literally zero problem with it. In fact, the game got better as it went along, the prison and break-in parts were really engaging. I automatically assumed my cat would find his litter mates since he’s back on the surface, as they were. Cats find their way home across a city, I doubt

I’ve been thinking about replaying this absolute masterpiece. Struck me so hard 5 years ago that I haven’t even considered touching it again, but as time goes on.. I should do it sooner than later.

When a comment is far better than the article.

“some crimes”

Wow, looking at that list of major updates, I realized I hadn’t played much since the nextgen update - and even then it was only a few hours. Before that though, I put 60+ hours into NMS every year around the time of the big fall updates - might be my most played game in a decade by now. This fleet addition really

Sounds like it’s been a long time since you last played.

I dunno who he is, but he sounds like a giant baby.

Wow, scuf has a patent on the very concept of buttons on the back of the controller? That fucking sucks, but at least it’s an explanation. I’ve wondered why the consoles didn’t release new versions with these extra buttons yet because just like you said, it’d be amazing - no taking thumb off the joystick to press

ahhh someone was exaggerating then! ah well, still would be amazing to see it any higher res than 720

I’ve bought one, it was the version of Fallout 4 that came in a huge actual pipboy you could put your phone in and use with the included app as your in-game pipboy. cool shit! but of course that is unwieldy and I never used it like that and it just sat on my shelf, and now I’m considering selling it on ebay!

I heard that right here in the comments, had no idea - and it apparently runs at 60fps??

I left it installed (I’ve got  a 2tb external for ps4 games) just in case, but who knows, maybe at this point they’ll just release a PS5 version of the game and charge $70 more lol

I stupidly assumed they patched RDR2 for next gen and installed the game on my ps5. Booted it up and... my god. After playing strictly 60fps games on the console for the past couple years, the game felt like it was in slow motion. Too bad, as I was really looking forward to spending time in that world again.

This is great news! Wow, I can’t remember the last time I’ve read that a developer was ditching remakes/remasters to focus on a new game. Amazing.

How on earth are you gonna make a video game rat article without mentioning Dishonored lol

honestly the “free for people who already own it” should have been near the top of this article, if not in the title. but I guess it’s more clickbaity to act like they’re actually literally remaking the game again.

No Man’s Sky had a unique, wonderful idea at its core even if it released in heavily damaged state, and most importantly the small team was completely dedicated to salvaging the situation and making it even better than the game initially promised. People badly wanted that idea to come to full fruition. Anthem was yet
