I’ve also got a steep yard, though it doesn’t run down to a river, and it’s such a pain to mow that I also will let (the backyard at least) go for weeks without a trim. Really wish I could just replace it all with wild plants or a sparse garden of low maintenance bushes or something, but.. yeah, that doesn’t sell.…
I absolutely love Stardew Valley, but the key difference there is an interesting wholecloth world, characters, and stories you can have with them. The tedious stuff is like what you work through to keep those aspects going. Honestly I’d be extra curious about a lawn moving game with an indepth story and characters!!
Who’s it unplayable for? I have it on base ps4 and it runs fine. Not a great framerate, barely keeps up 30, so it’s not ideal.. but it plays absolutely fine for what it is. But you’re right - I put 80 hours into it and finished the story in January and only pop back in now to see how the patches have helped.
I am honestly fascinated by the idea of someone who loves these tedious simulation games, doing unpaid virtual jobs that real people get paid to do. Not gonna knock it, because everyone’s got their own tastes.. but I am very fascinated!
Ah yes the classic “you just don’t like it because you don’t understand it”. The rallying cry of fanboys everywhere who can’t cope with something they like being criticised.
It’s okay that you didn’t like the story, dude. Who are you trying to convince? I absolutely love the story but I’m not going to waste paragraphs trying to convince a stranger to change their opinion lol
Nah, it just sounds like you personally didn’t like where the story goes (and maybe misunderstand it because its “foundation” isn’t in sympathy for the fireflies) and that’s fine, but we need more ambitious narratives like this in video games.
I don’t think any game can get to that level of hype and *not* be a culture war thing anymore. Any movie, anything. That’s how this stuff just works now thanks to social media lol
For sure, that’s what I’m thinking. or just something similar!
what a downbeat game that would be!!!
Gutless is spot on. And I mean, sure TLOU2 pissed off a small but very vocal contingent of internet people, but the game sold massively and is extremely highly rated almost across the board. I don’t think they regret its reception at all. Just seems bizarre to remake a game that young that still looks *almost* as good…
I mean the storytelling in TLOU2 is some of the best in the entire medium, so I don’t agree there. I’m just sick of sequels and think especially that game was so huge we don’t need more of the story. it’s the Terminator 1 and 2 situation - the second is so epic and final that anything after that is gonna ruin it
even bringing it to TLOU2 fidelity is not a massive step up, certainly not requiring a remake of a game that young. screams cash grab by sony
Still don’t understand the remake for ps5 situation. The game had a ps4 version that was fantastic, and made for a nice revisit just before the sequel came out. It’s not like it’s an old game anyway.
HLD was definitely more difficult to me than Dark Souls or Bloodborne, to the point that I actually didn’t finish it despite having a great time. It just got too stressful/repetitive. Suppose it’s just more up to what we are better at when it comes to gameplay.
I actually just turned off 2FA for my sony account because of how impossible it was to access my Vita. See, after resetting it I wasn’t able to log into my account on the console because it demands a 2FA but with the Vita, sony doesn’t text me a code. There’s some disconnect there, and I had to jump through a dozen…
Every single article about this thing is full of comments like yours, and every single one has tons of replies saying “me”
Imagine getting super mad in real life that your fictional character can’t commit suicide in a video game. Gamers are the fucking worst lol
lol I’ve spent so many years on the internet but I’m still always amused by people confusing their opinion with objectivity, have a good day!
