Point taken!

Arachnids, not arthropods!

I think if Juliet had done "With A Little Help From My Friends" by herself Monday night, she would have won.  She hit that mofo out of the park (with a little help from Joe Cocker's arrangement).

If the music's good, I wouldn't care if she identified as a giant space crab from the oceans of Europa.  Rock on.

I did.  "Freebird" is basically a few verses of fairly generic Skynyrd lyrics followed by a 4-minute guitar orgy.  Not the most obvious choice for a vocal competition.

"I can't give you an orgasm!  I'm in tech!"

Chekov's Legume!  At last, the game is afoot, foul peanut!

"Smash…. makes….. peanuts….. Smash[!]"

You really think that?  He's a phenomenal Broadway actor, but I think he's a terrible Joe Dimaggio.  Joltin' Joe was a insular, odd, paranoid, abrasive little Italian man.  Michael's performance is basically Michael Crawford as a baseball player.  It's like having Big Bird being played by Shamu.  Shamu's a great

Literally the only moment in the entire show's run where I've actually liked Julia.

Tom should be ALL CHARACTERS!!!!!!

I picked up on that too.  You're not wrong:  Rebecca WAS shown telling someone to get rid of someone.  I think we were supposed to assume it was Karen, but I don't think she explicitly said it (i.e. I think she said "get rid of her").  But that scene never appeared.  What up with that, Smash????

I think the fundamental problem with Meg is that it's basically impossible to take her seriously as an ugly, unloved outcast while she's being voiced by Mila Kunis.

I'd say "because she's Uma Thurman and she's got a great rack"…. but so does Ivy.

In a previous writeup, Noel noted that Smash!: The Novel has its play workshopping in Boston, so I think they just stuck with that particular script.  Which I think is another anachronistic example of S!:TN being set in the 80s but using the B-way reality of the late 50s-mid 60s.  (If memory serves, you'd bring your

I spotted that too.  It's not impossible at all — you just switch trains (to Amtrak) in Stamford or New Haven.  It's just…. stupid.

I always thought it was from radium.

WHAT IF WE NEVER ADOPT HER?????

Dammit, this ep was of enough quality that I'm having problems finding my snark….

He really called them "Rick and Bruce"?  Good gravy….
