Years ago I started wearing board shorts, haven’t looked back.
These are all terrible. Fortunately I have seen many average size ladies in cute one pieces that include a little skirt. Like a tennis outfit! I applaud this idea. Why should we have to show our crotch and ass off?
some women will be unable to go to baby showers for the rest of their lives
I mean... i’ve done 10 years as an EMT. Another 10 in Child Protective Services. Currently working with drug addicts. I have seen enough “reality” for my lifetime, I don’t need to see it in my entertainment too. So yes. Blockbusters to let me forget the horrible things in the world, please. THe more unreal the better.
There’s nothing wrong with being 43 (my age) and still liking cartoons and comic based movies. You think kids make up the bulk of marvel ticket sales?
People can appreciate both low and high culture. I don’t have an opportunity or the cash to get to a theater often, so I will usually save those trips for a popcorn movie that looks best on the big screen. I will generally wait to watch something like Spotlight when it’s available to rent or on streaming.
I’ve never quite understood going to the movies to see reality. Like, people just talking or working, or doing yard work. You’ve got this amazing screen, sound system, etc., and it’s being used for the mundane. If I’m plopping down $10-$12 for a movie, I want to see intergalactic battles, Ant-Man swinging an airplane,…
But there’s no accounting for taste, the general audience in America considers Marvel movies to be the pinnacle of cinema at the moment.
Agree and as a woman on maternity leave (from my own business) how could I participate maybe they will get to that, but if I was to stop doing women’s work I’d have to prep that women’s work by pumping and making sure my husband could stay with the baby. Then he would have to not work at our small business, for me to…
Yep. It’s all from a position of privilege and I’m seeing a lot of women on here saying that we should expect women to “make sacrifices” like the bodega owners. But those were business OWNERS. They weren’t going to go completely out of business from one day of not making sales. They weren’t going to lose their…
Okay from this info I can see that they are likely to include more options than actually not showing up for work that day, but can someone explain to me the point of a single day strike? Isn’t the point of a strike that you continue to not work until your demands are met? I’m not trying to hate on it, I am just…
So, I heard all the hype and gave it a try. I was emphatically not bowled over like every single other person who seemed to have watched it. I just watched it at a normal pace, which, for me is to say that I watched it entirely on the train to and from work. I thought it was a very good show. If you go in with…
Why not match your skin tone to your natural color, rather than the opposite color? Sorry, I don’t buy vitiligo as the reason the man was whiter than the whitest sheet of paper for his entire adult life.
For fucking real. The problem with all the hoo-ha about recounts and faithless electors, which were NEVER going to change the game, is that it allowed people to stay in their denial phase for wayyyyyyy too long. Time to snap out of it, peeps, and, yes, STOP the crying. An army of weeping willows is not going to win…
Look, I’m just as disappointed in this election’s outcome as anyone. But could we all stop with the fucking crying about it? Seriously, put on your fucking big boy and big girl pants and start figuring out what to do now. Jesus fucking
Christ on a stick.
That motherfucker subjected his own daughter to medical examination of her genitalia and dragged her through a court case in order to GET CUSTODY OF HER.
Yup. I’m so over it. The cynicism and the easily offended crowd are fucking exhausting at this point. You can’t say anything anymore. Everything celebrities do and say is potentially problematic even when they don’t have bad intentions. What is a celebrity to do, if not be a voice for thousands of people in their same…
Isn’t this what we want, though, white people to “get it”? In the end, if they can have empathy then things will change for the better.
This can happen to non-white people, too, depending on how/where you were raised. I grew up around Latinos most of my life and didn’t expand my social circle to include other ethnicities until I got to college. It took me getting to college where I started to experience full-fledged discrimination.
