What about the liquid left over from straining Greek-style yoghurt. I used to use a coffee filter and often thought it was a bit of a waste to throw all that out - I had an idea it might also work in bread-making.

I haven’t tried to make a broth per se with okra - ie boiling or simmering it and straining through a wire mesh filter - that might be interesting to try - I add it as a thickener and it really doesn’t seem to be slimy as it isn’t adhering to anything in particular.

I just made a nice soup yesterday and the collagen role was played by none other than ..... OKRA! The texture of the soup was rich and velvety - and of course okra tastes delicious anyway.
