I’m curious about how the pulsing patterns work. I can’t imagine it’s as simple as pulses that follow the Fibonacci sequence. The quote says they do an “A, AB, ABA, ABAAB, ABAAABABA...” pattern, so are there two different lasers? Or is A on and B off?  What’s the period in between pulse patterns?

FWIW Haneke did a shot for shot English remake of Funny Games with Tim Roth and Naomi Watts. I haven’t seen the original, but they should be nearly identical. Same director, same shots, same script -- only the actors and language changed.
