Says person who’s totally ignorant to Venezuelan economic and political systems but yeah keep apologizing for some of the most loathsome corporations.

The worst thing to happen to this world are governments protecting corporations from and at the cost their own people

Oh, for god’s sake. Unlike Amy Carter, Chelsea Clinton, the Bush twins and the Obama girls, Ivanka is a GROWN WOMAN being made fun of, not a child. A grown woman who regularly appeared on television before her daddy became president, who has multiple brands with her name on them-- not some private, retiring person. And

You mean like the Las Vegas terrorist, or the South Carolina terrorist, or the Aurora terrorist?

Which he isn’t and he hasn’t.

God, when did bots start to take over the AV Club. All of that is demonstratively false.

the terrorists are already in the US, but they’re white guys so it’s all good, right?

homophobia isn’t funny

Connor is too much of a joke. I’m sure he’ll run and make an ass of himself, but If the company tried to prop him up as a serious candidate, notwithstanding his utter lack of intellect or qualifications, the result would be a broader sort of comedy than the show is going for.

I think the line that best sums up the whole ethos of the show was when Connor said “Any doofus can have a couple million bucks...” That, and Tom’s “And even if i go to jail— WHICH I WON’T—”
This show does such a great job of making being rich look fucking gross.

I can only presume SUCCESSION snuck up on a lot of people including critics. Willa Paskin on SLATE did a complete reversal, admitted she was dead wrong in her initial assessment and last week came out with a ringing endorsement of the show and of course AV Club came through in the final minutes of the game. (Hey we

I totally get that. I’m not into rich people worship. I don’t watch reality shows, and I can’t abide shows like Billions, or even Modern Family because of my aversion. But the characters in Succession are miserable 24/7. The show lampoons the ridiculousness of the elite’s behavior and how boring it all is. There was

Eventually I found that none of them are likeable, but some are less hateable than the others in this world, and that's enough.

I cannot believe The Affair is still on. We’ve totally forgotten the whole point of it by now. Four assholes and their fucked up lives.

I’m fine with AVC covering this. I’m not fine with them covering the ridiculously banal The Affair instead of Succession, which has indeed gotten better every episode and has done so without falling into a lot of prestige TV cliches.

I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised considering there are still reviews for The Affair and The Simpsons. I miss the days when we had more options for daily reviews. I have tried to seek out other TV reviews on entertainment sites, but most of them are just recaps. I usually like Alan Sepinwall’s reviews - but his

“HI!”

You’re a fucking dipshit.

I mean, technically, since she’s posting pictures of her expensive guns online, and telling everyone who will listen to about her expensive guns she’s increasing the risk that some enterprising criminal will realize that there’s thousands of dollars of easy-selling merchandise in her home, and act upon that

If only it were funnier. There’s plenty of laughs in the episode, but Baron Cohen has a habit of pursuing particular rabbit holes for far too long. A segment...stretches on to the point of tedium.
