In 2020, one episode of W/ Bob And David was removed because Cross could not make it four episodes without doing Blackface in one of the sketches, which he then refused to apologize for. Let’s see if he can manage it this time.

I loved the first Reacher film, I don’t care what anyone says. Shame about the second.

But it is about power lol. When you're an abusive POS who gets off on having complete power over another person, having women willingly throw themselves at you in exchange for money or fame isn't enough.

Yes, let's blame the women and not the men who abuse women and the billion dollar industry that enables said abuse.

That was a missed chance of using Franz Ferdinand’s “Take Me Out” for a montage scene, but I guess they had to use their already tiny budget on the dollar store mustache for the Archduke.

you don’t usually see a stealth pilot for a show that’s already been on the air for 2 seasons, and you especially don’t see it in the spin-off of itself.

Before this episode I would have thought he spent a week to a month with the Tuskens and even that would’ve been pushing it.

Cecily Strong is out because she’s making her NYC stage debut in a limited run revival of Jane Wagner and Lily Tomlin’s The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe, which runs until early Feb.

The waiting room never made any sense. The opening of the show tells us explicitly that Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Nobody ever says “and then later we found him in a nondescript room on campus with somebody else’s brain”.

If they’re smart they’ll take a nod from Mandalorian’s success and just make a really good episodic ‘adventure of the week’ format with a vague yet immutable goal in mind for the protagonist.

Can probably throw The 4400 in there, too. Except people from a messed up future kidnapped 4400 people from various points in time and sent them back to the present, with powers, to fix it.

Ah, I have found his problem, it is “Making movies targeted at an audience of Joe Manchin”

Paul F. Tompkins would make a great Gushie

Preach. I just wish they’d have left this alone.

In the first season, they tried a few, “OK, NOW we know how to get you home,” things and it was always like Banner being cured of the Hulk in the Bixby-Ferringo show or the early Voyager episodes where they had ideas how to get home. It got old

Totally agree. What’s hilarious about Quantum Leap is that they would periodically retcon the “rules” of how leaping worked if there was a good story to tell. And, yes, every person Sam leapt into was actually back at Project Quantum Leap in the future, though they barely addressed it and almost never actually showed

Glad they seem to be keeping in the neighborhood and not doing a road trip movie. Usually the secondary characters get screwed in these movies and become glorified cameos. Looking at you Beavis and Butt-Head Do America and The Simpsons Movie.

Frozen take:  Let it go.

Tepid take: I don’t much care either way. Although when JJ Abrams lied about Cumberbatch playing Khan in Into Darkness, it was so transparently a lie and he stuck to it so completely that I felt like my intelligence was being insulted. Didn’t help that the movie sucked.

Despite all the rumors, I was glad I didn’t “know” definitively that the other SM actors were showing up and so it was as surprising and delightful as possible, given the realities of how things work now.  So, yeah.  Thanks, Andrew, for fighting the good fight.

Warm take: everything is terrible, and lying to keep fun plot details sorta-kinda secret is ok actually.
