The switch to half-hour episodes is what worries me. They’re showing them in blocks of two, so maybe they realise that was a mistake.

He’s second-billed in a fairly big movie with Kristen Stewart that’s supposed to come out later this year; it’ll be interesting to see what Fox do with that.

I love the original UK version of Taskmaster. I hope the American version is at least watchable, but they’re airing S6 of the original at the same time anyway.

Yeah, the show doesn’t really know where its strengths lie. There’s not really any need for another round of mysteries and twists. It just leads to diminishing returns. Look at Damages, another show that was very twist-focused in S1 and completely screwed up S2 trying to replicate the formula.

The main problem with the GoT comparison is that most of the book readers actually read the books. They didn’t just read the Wikipedia summaries so they would know what was going to happen on the TV show.

The Saul side is an origin. The Mike stuff is much more of a prequel, and definitely falls into a lot of the standard problems. I still love it though.

Also, a lot of them are bad.

Greenwood’s a few decades older though. I guess we can pretend Anson Mount is going to grow up into Bruce Greenwood.

Anyone want to guess how many showrunners this show will go through in its five seasons? I’m guessing eight.

I think it was Dan McCoy who came up with the equally-applicable “Have our sex games become too elaborate?”

Yeah, definitely closer to Lovell.

The Wikipedia mentions that the writers started on the movie in 2013, so a few years before the Lebbon book.

I think so, just because Green Room at least made me laugh occasionally. There’s very little room for levity here once the action starts.

I think it’s definitely one you’re going to watch somewhere with a good surround sound. If you have that at home, good for you?

Pretty scary, but most of the violence is offscreen. There’s a lot of implied violence, but not much we actually see.

I saw this yesterday, and can’t remember the last time a movie made me feel so anxious for such an extended period of time. Great cast too, especially the kids.

I really enjoyed Blockers! (Or 🐓Blockers, as I guess the poster says.) It’s dumb, but I laughed pretty much through the whole thing.

The creator of Party Down is on The CW! His show is one of thes not renewed yet. :(

Saulnier posted “No comment.” on his Twitter, which pretty clearly means “No, of course it wasn’t scheduling issues, but I signed a NDA.”
