Seems pretty obvious to me that they’re highlighting the casual brutality of the sport. Big difference between “He got....JACKED UP!” and “This player was stretchered off the field and may suffer permanent paralysis because of a routine and unavoidable play”

Unfortunately this was just a product of a violent sport. I don’t see how the could’ve been avoided. It certainly wasn’t malicious

Definitely helmet to helmet, but also unclear how it could have been avoided as both players assumed postures natural to their motions. It didn’t look like the defender was trying to do anything other than wrap up his opponent
