Sorry about your Dad. I believe he is laughing and carrying love for moments shared by you. Keep that thought always

I watched this show with my dad every night. He died Wednesday. I know somewhere he’s laughing with me about how awesomely unapologetically unsubtle the line was about the guns.

Winter Yo-Yo

Maybe we should start a petition to make them tell us.

It’s probably because the incidents which led to the lawsuits were very specific to the production of I’m Still Here, which by all accounts seemed like an excuse for Affleck and Joaquin Phoenix to do a bunch of drugs, fuck hookers, and generally act like pigs, all under the guise of “performance art.”

Uh, pretty sure the point was to make a joke about the AV club. A very very standard joke around these parts. Chill.

What’s the point?

Okay.

Just hook this gif directly to my veins.

You’ve been told and I assume that’s good enough for consent

Of course he’s an awful person, but Cooperstown is not the gates of heaven.

He wouldn’t be the first deserving candidate to miss out. Fortunately, he will get in next year.

Edgar was a successful DH for 10 years (95-04), which was the result of an injury. He started as a 3B and played some in the field for interleague games afterwards. While a 3rd baseman, prior to his injury in 94, he’d already had a batting title, lead the league in doubles, and stole 14 bases in the same season.

Oh, Schilling is 100% deserving to be in.

I believe Hester should be in, Martinez should be in and so should Steve Tasker for being the best special teams player of his generation.

Ortiz hit more homers but Edgar was an all-around better hitter and frankly, it’s not close to me. I think Edgar’s case is significantly stronger. Plus, Ortiz has a PED story in his file. It’s kind of bullshit because he didn’t actually fail a test and didn’t fail one in his career, so you would assume some voters

A Puerto Rican friend of mine—clearly, proof that I can never be racist—is massively peeved by the arguments pushed by this USA Today writer, who’s also of PR descent.

Getting past the PR-PR anger, it’s ridiculous that Edgar isn’t in the Hall. The argument that Edgar’s prime started too late (age 27) is counterbalanced

Most people consider Mariano Rivera a lock, and a potential unanimous, Hall of Fame player. I have no issues with this. He only had three official at bats in his career. Edgar Martinez was a more complete baseball player than Rivera.

I still can’t get over the people who use the whole DH argument. IT IS A REAL POSITION. I swear to you it is. It’s in the MLB rulebook and everything. We’ve now started electing guys who literally played a fake position that contribute less to their teams success as a whole. There are so many shitty defenders in

It was a nice feeling knowing this sour son-of-a-bitch was out there, grumbling about Mumford & Sons and whatnot. R.I.P. to a legend.
