You don’t seem merry at all.
You don’t seem merry at all.
I enjoyed this episode... at least, as much as I could while being worried about the very realistic struggles the Conners were going through. This show is still good at showing the struggles of the working class, though not as good as it was in the original series.
Then Roseanne did the Robot for 20 minutes.
Great article, the av club
I know plenty of men and women who took the Roseanne Connor path in life—champion of the downtrodden early in life to paranoid, muslim-fearing Trump supporter in middle-age—so I really don’t understand why people are so shocked by this turn of events.
I’m pretty sure we’re the ones living in an alternate reality.
You know, there’s a reason I come here instead of Cracked. Well...there used to be, anyway.
...nah.
She pretended to be a Trump supporter and it paid off. Just like Trump is pretending to be for rural America so he can scam them.
I feel like Patton Oswalt has compromising pictures of everyone at the AVClub. If he takes a shit, you guys talk about how brilliant it is.
No. Competitive weightlifter bodytypes don’t usually call themselves “plus-sized”.
And now that I have read the review, it sounds like at least a solid A-. Are you sure you aren’t ranking it down out of some sort of neurotic guilt at enjoying humor and violence in the same scene?
You know, there really is a lack of plus-sized superheroes. How come almost everyone that gets super powers is already physically fit? I mean, sure, eventually a life of fighting crime is going to pound you into shape, but most of these people look like underwear models right from the jump.
I see both sides. Some of the Root writers can write some pretty outlandish shit. On the other hand, a lot of these guys are sexist and homophobic and hate being called out about or having to consider other people’s struggles.
C’mon. You know TheRoot loves to sh*t on black men and blow smoke up black women’s asses. You ever read the site bruh? You could never get away with writing this kind of snarky sh*t about black women.
THIS. This is exactly the line where I can’t tell satire from reality. It could REALLY go either way, right?
I did not get that impression per se. I flat out loved season 3, so I may be in a different place than you. However, to me it showed a sense of growth possible in the character and show that makes me more optimistic.
70 episodes? We’ll see. I think there is enough to the premise, and more importantly to the character…
“This animated show has been THE BEST THING EVER for its three seasons, it’s a godsend that it gets 70 more episodes.” (An Archer fan in 2012)
I LOVE DAN HARMON AND RICK AND MORTY BUT IS SEAN O’NEAL LEAVING???
