Go watch the PBS ancestry show with Henry Louis Gates. The man’s entire family in Europe was killed in the Holocaust and preceding pogroms in Eastern Europe.

This reminds me of white people getting offended at Chris Rock’s N word routine. If you’re not Jewish please don’t get offended on my behalf when a fellow Jew tells a Jewish joke.

Stop trying to make things that aren’t offensive seem offensive! I just watched the monologue on YouTuhe and, as a fan of comedy and Larry David, THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH EITHER THE MONOLOGUE OR THE “OFFENSIVE” CONCENTRATION CAMP DATING JOKES. Please watch it for yourself and anybody with half a brain should see

This illustrates one thing I hate about internet “journalism” and that is 1) this same story will appear on pretty much every site and 2) they will all say the same thing and embed the same tweets. It’s mindless groupthink and lazy writing.

It seems like when people don’t like material, they really like to imagine that the person is bombing and somehow filter out all the laughter. In the big where he plays Sanders and has the line “I’m going to take down everyone with me” he got a big laugh from the crowd, but for some reason there were comments saying

I was not offended as a Jew, I was offended as a fan of comedy.

Maybe people were just afraid to laugh.

And, ironically, Louis CK also delivered his famed “molesting children must be amazing” bit during his first SNL monologue:

Exactly. The author’s characterization sounds as if there were crickets after David’s jokes — “dead air” — and that was obviously not the case. And how exactly was his delivery lazy?

Offensive no...

Ignore. Like we did Suey Park. Or those people who said “How I Met Your Mother” was racist against Asians. Or those people who accused Trevor Noah, Sarah Silverman and Tina Fey of being racist. Why do we take every accusation seriously?

I find it offensive.

He wrote an episode of network television about making out during Shcindlers list almost a quarter century ago. Its like the world suddenly forgot who Larry David is. The joke isn’t “boy the holocaust sure is funny” its about lechery trumping tact told by a man whose relatives were murdered by nazis. Its odd to me so

Yeah, I have to say, that monologue was terrible. Not a single joke, hell not even a moving picture, just the text “The uploader has not made this video available in your country.” I mean, can we even call that a monologue, then? Larry David definitely dropped the ball here.

Ugh, can we not? There is no backlash. There are always a few idiots with a dumb “This is offensive!” take on something not offensive, and for some reason, the media likes to scour the internet for this tiny minority, amplify their platform, and make every liberal look like an idiot crybaby. Buzzfeed does it all the

Would be nice if you at the very least paraphrased the joke instead of making me have to watch what you just described as a lousy set to get some idea of what was so outrageous about the joke

I went to buy garlic dipping sauce at Papa John’s the other day. That’s literally the only thing I bought. The face on the manager’s face was priceless as she rang up only that.

And it’s not like he was making fun of the Holocaust or its victims, or anything. Every joke was at his own expense.

“The thing is, Larry David knew he was not doing quite well at the midpoint of his monologue.”
