Well, we don’t quite have the technology to replicate O’Neal snark just yet. But Hughes/Barsanti-style aimless, perfunctory snark? Absolutely.

Gotta love how the entire article is right there in the headline. I feel like you could get some sort of robot with three distinct varieties of inane clickbait to do Hughes’ job, and most of us wouldn’t even notice the difference.

The numbers here haven’t been so good lately since the switch to Kinja. Now Hughes is pulling out all the stops to try to get new readers... except writing funny, informative articles. There’s some things he just can’t do!

When did The AV Club become apologists for such vacuous, bland music? Did you guys forget that one of the abbreviated letters in your name stands for “audio”? But no, keep writing up more stupid Taylor Swift articles I guess.

He’s the type of hypocritical idiot that thinks that ironically calling someone else a “snowflake” is the height of comedy, then immediately goes back to playing into every mediocre internet blogger’s hands by getting offended by every single stupid “controversy” that comes along.

On the other hand, it’s a good way to get Internet fanboys preemptively outraged about the way young Han Solo is portrayed, before ever even seeing any footage! Just look at him. What a douche.

I saw the new Power Rangers movie this weekend, and it was very dumb, but not in the Michael Bay sort of way I was expecting. The tone was all over the place: it couldn’t decide whether it wanted to be campy fun like the old series, or a gritty reboot, and ultimately achieved neither.

All month long, this dumb website basically looked like the world’s most depressing advent calendar: every day until Christmas, a new alleged rapist will be revealed!

That’s too bad, I’ve heard that Mariah treats all her employees pretty well. Especially her bodyguards!

The AV Club has pivoted away from pop cultural analysis, and more towards “this person I don’t like still sucks”.

Well there’s no question that at the very least, Hughes is contributing to the decline of The AV Club!
