Becoming a medium that has redeeming qualities with mainstream audiences, usually on a cultured level. It’s a bit difficult to rigorously define, but I think it’s acceptable to go with the Stewarts “I know it when I see it” definition.

Self-censorship is called “making a decision.”

That’s not super probable in Mississippi. Like, I get that this sort of thing happens in other places, but we don’t really have gangs like that here. There’s nothing for them to fight over in the first place.

There’s no way in hell Dan Mullen could write that either. Cousin Eddie can barely read.

You missed the Hack Snyder pun.

Right, by reselling it to you on sale later.

Yeah, they’re doing it for several reasons. Chiefly, they want that small credit to push you over the edge on a purchase that you were wanting to make, and years down the road they can re-sell you the key that you sold back.

It’s a pseudo-sale for MS’s perspective. With that store credit (which would never exceed $6), you might dump $20 on your account to buy a $25 game.

That also flips the other way. If you get the game on sale, then it goes back up in price, your sell-back would be a higher percentage of what you paid.

Exactly. No online income, and the software attach rate was the worst of the generation.

True.

Exactly. And people need to understand that the company as a whole has moved to MAU as their main reporting metric since it’s worth a hell of a lot more to shareholders. I mean, is anyone going to argue that the Wii killed it in a long-term, stable fashion? Of course not, because most of them ended up in closets like

Exactly. It’s losely got a plot in the same way that every day of our lives has a goal (go to work, buy groceries, catch a show, etc...), but it’s all intentionally mundane.

No that’s all there. I’ve got some hipster friends who’re baffled by sports in their entirety.

To say this is intellectually dishonest. You know completely that your definition of “casual” is garbage, and it exists in your mind to play “No True Scotsman” with people who, in your eyes, shouldn’t be allowed to call themselves gamers, despite them playing games for many hours at a time.

This should be stickied to the top of the post.

I disagreed with Jim on that one. It comes down to how many games you’re buying, so to speak. It’s undeniable that for a lot of games, the late game stage can play pretty differently to the early stages. If a person wants to buy their way to that late stage without playing the early bits (that would actually hinder

People like you give gamers a bad name.

This is the very definition of elitism. It’s repulsive.

I was also going to use those examples. Especially Pulp Fiction, which features no real change in anything over the 2 days that its plot covers. Just routine business among criminals.
