Without replay, they'd have just blown that play dead immediately and then the Temple guys would be bitching about "refs didn't let us get the turnover."

Testing how well he can Naruto run

This will always baffle me. The way he just stands there, they’re basically running a 10-man offense. Just put literally anybody there who will go run a route or something. It makes no sense and I don't know how any OC can justify how they did that.

I just think the coaching is bad on these plays. On a standard play, you can’t keep looking back at the QB or you’ll get burned by the quick wideout you’re covering. But on a Hail Mary, you know where it’s going and you’ve got years of hangtime to get in place.

The comparison goes back at least to Sun Tzu:

Shout out to Fox for giving viewers like half a second of warning before gleefully showing off Mostert’s arm snapping like a glow stick.

Incredible

Thank every god

My condolences to everyone around Case Keenum next week, as he’s definitely never going to shut up about that wide open TD pass.

I’ll never understand that last pass.  That play is the last play of the game, no matter what.  So instead of tossing it out (and I guess hoping to God you got a flag go your way), why not just lob it up and give your guys a chance to jump for it? Odds aren’t great, but they’re better than zero.

Phil Bryant has a gay son. Empathy is rare in Jackson.

As an Ole Miss alum, I’d love it if sports were transitive like you say, but they aren’t.

You have to wonder if the college game isn’t prepping players adequately enough to handle the pro game. NCAA champion quarterbacks look lost on NFL fields, and while a perfect sport would equally emphasize all positions, the negatives to bad QB play are too great to ignore (on this very article, that last INT was

I think possession still only amounts to a maximum of a year in prison as well. So there’s a solid chance this guy doesn’t even go to jail but just pays a fine.

Russell Wilson, as he was leaving the medical tent:

With various rules changes, they can save the sport (for example, my preference would be to put years of eligibility on each position so that you can’t be a lineman getting slammed for 2 decades). There are options right now.

Yeah, the ref needs the authority to throw a flag for something like “illegal substitution” or whatever if a player is on the field without getting checked out.

You know Ja Rule is watching all this go down next to a phone.

Gronk’s not much of a QB, but for a few extra Bud Light Lime-a-Ritas, he’d probably throw a few short passes.

The first camera angle (the live one) kinda hides the depth between the WR and Peters, but that behind-the-QB shot on the replay really shows how bad that pass was. If Peters wasn’t even there, that pass still eats dirt 5 yards shy of any receiver.
