Can you clarify the bit about Halo 1 PC having dumbed-down visuals? Some of the missing effects from the first game on PC were due to them only working on AMD cards at the time, and some years later someone did a wrapper to make them available on all cards.

Why no sense? Is it because of the bright green glow? My understanding has always been that it’s just there to mimic how a special camera would see it, emitting light invisible to the naked eye but very visible to said camera. Just like an IR remote to a phone camera.

Fallout 4 might have a bad rap for a variety of reasons, but the settlement building has always warmed my heart and gave me a reason to go home after every completed mission. I have an array of power armor suits, collections of special weapons from slain bosses, cute bobbleheads...the list goes on and on.

Where is muh X-Plane, which uses mathematical models in blade element theory to generate an artificial wind tunnel for every aircraft for realistic flight modeling? And which also allows you to make your own planes as a result? :o :o :o

I actually liked the older Australian PC from Battlefield 1, Frederick Bishop.

The skins are great, no doubt, but HOW ABOUT THAT AMAZING INTRO MUSIC? Feels like a good old-school cinematic score by Alan Silvestri, John Williams, or Jerry Goldsmith.

One thing I’ve found is that the game often has so much peaceful downtime, that squad chat ends up becoming an opportunity for legitimate heart-to-hearts among friends. Every time I duo with my close friends, it’s like half an hour of just enjoying each other’s company and talking.

How is 16-bit/44.1KHz PCM lossy? Certainly you’re sampling in quantized segments rather than a continuous analog signal, but you’re getting everything that you can possibly hear and appreciate.
