I would agree that for a daily driver my E36 M3 was a more enjoyable car, but for me that is a result of the modification decisions I made. It also was far less expensive to maintain, and was much better on gas. So as a DD, it was fantastic. Plus, the gearing and torque made it more useful for city driving.

I had an E36 M3. It was a fun car that that definitely had a raw feeling and put a smile on my face.

Now for my rare BMW screed...

Why does it need to be more powerful..? 400WHP is more than enough to be too fast for the street :/ I do like that they’re making an effort to add lightness and keep the manual alive!

Always stops the progress?

I hate the styling. I don’t know how BMW got it so wrong. On the other hand, I really like the LCI E90.

Haha. I have a 2017 and a 2011 ctsv. The 2017 gets 50% better gas mileage so I’m like this shit is practically a Prius.

As the owner of both an LS (in a Corvette) and an E90 M3 I fully understand where you are coming from... however... I have been a Corvette fan my whole life and I bought the BMW for my wife (traded keys for keys with a 66 Corvette that I barely drove). After purchasing and getting some seat time in the BMW sweet baby

I think there is more room to the downside. Gas prices are high which is why there is a glut of these cars currently. It also doesn’t help that the f10 is so universally disliked.

I have a fond love for a 4 door M3 with a stick as the perfect small family hauler/fun ride.

Know what Austin drivers are doing these days? Say you have two flyover ramps that merge, like this one.

I love how chill Ricciardo looks in comparison to the usual “hot shoe drifter scares the shit out of some poor fuck” setup. Not even holding on to the car. Keeping his hands politely tucked in his lap. Giving the OK symbol. Agree that the MX5 isn’t the best drift car, but 4-rotor mazdas are always an instant NP in any

I’m no big fan of the GTI, but the interiors are absolutely spectacular, well thought out, and massive from a passenger space perspective. I can sit behind myself with inches to spare for my knees. The ATS, meanwhile, is well and truly tiny on the inside. I’m 5'11", and I can’t sit behind myself without sitting knees

“It’s also a fairly reliable car.”

The engine is larger and more powerful, and the off-road abilities are present, versus the nonexistent abilities of a minivan. You didn’t preface your statement with the disclaimer of “But buyers of one wouldn’t be in the market for the other”, so I’m directly addressing the comment you made and not any that was (or

There are quite a few different cams available these days, but they do require a tune, and you aren’t wrong about your priorities, either - you should definitely start with suspension.

That’s a popular bench-racing misconception.

That is the only E36 I want

Perfectly acceptable reaction. I’d probably drool if I saw one in person too.

Taking the rack out to do the (always failing) balancers is pretty annoying.
