Google "Susan Sarandon Bette Davis Kevin Aucoin." He made her up as Bette circa 2002 in his book 'Face Forward.' I'd be surprised if that wasn't in the back of Murphy's mind when he dreamed this up.

You MUST. it's probably rentable from Amazon for a couple of bucks, but save the drag-queen parody titled 'Baby Jane for after, or you'll miss the jokes. it's acquired the 'camp' label but the performances are actually very good, very nuanced.

Norman blacked out the minute he saw that guy and his cartoonish, "I'm gonna stand here holding a gun" and Norma took over. What we saw was how the lost memory was in his mind. Remember also that he gave his mom the car keys in the bathroom. That didn't really happen. We see those scenes they way Norman imagines

They were having consensual sex but Caleb raped her when she tried to put an end to it.

You guys should probably patent this idea now before it's too late.

Check out the album Masterpiece by Big Thief. Made a lot of other lists this year. Great band to see live as well.

There was someone involved with AHS dropped hints here from time to time. I remember a loose 'Cosby Show' reference that manifested in malcolm jamal warner turning up, back in Freakshow.

It was there, I thought, but subtle, more in the look Ford gave. Since he was apparently the one giving Maeve the power she had, it was easy for him to accept Bernard's reappearance.

I was a big Alice Russell fan when Adele's 19 broke into the mainstream, so I kind of shunned her at the time (I also admittedly avoid anything that gets to the point that EVERYONE is losing their shit over it). I"m not sure even now that I've heard 'Chasing Pavements' all the way through.

Nailed it.

They didn't do her makeup as well here as they did in Asylum (and even that could've been better—Old Lana in s2 was 95% Sarah Paulson's acting ability).

Everything we saw in Return to Roanoke was what was actually captured on film. Those deaths were explained because the 'viewing audience'saw what we saw.

So… torture porn.

If we follow that through, then it ends with a black woman being guilty but getting away with her crime. Which flies in the face of all that posturing about race, IMO.

The news that Lana was coming broke after Chapter 8 aired. It wasn't a suprise by now.

Gaga just put a record out. That's likely been her main focus for the last few months.

If we follow that through-line, then the black woman was actually guilty but got away with it.

It wasn't necessarily the end of her career. She was being interviewed as a precursor to the Kennedy Center Honors. They give that to people who are still working — Barbra Streisand, Morgan Freeman and DeNiro come to mind.

Asylum has been my favorite season. I actually just rewatched it over a weekend to see if i was forgetting anything about it, and I stand by that. I would rank this season either slightly below it or on part with it. Definitely not in the same way, but definitely as close to 'as good' as this show has ever gotten.

It was the pig's heart. Remember the story of the butcher and how she got out of the woods? Lee made that same 'deal with the devil' so to speak.
