If it were normal looking, she’d probably be down. My mom doesn’t care about power at all, she likes her gas mileage and her comfort and hates Priuses like a good person should.

Indeed. But given that my mom drove nothing but new Toyotas, Isuzus, Chevys, and one VW for the last 20 years, and now both of her sons drive CPO luxury sedans for less money than she paid for new economy cars, she wants to go the same route. My dad would always refuse to buy anything that isn’t new, but it’s her car,

hahaha Vin these are good candidates for my next car, not my moms.

Nope. Not at all, really. Most of her driving is a 5 mile commute to/from work.

lol the Passat was the first ‘foreign’ car I got them to buy since the V8 4runner we had in 04. My dad keeps rooting for a malibu and I keep smacking him and telling him “No.”.

Can we make a thread about helping all of our friends/family find new cars post-buyback?

Well yeah, but he’s also Vin Diesel in his mind. Vin Diesel doesn’t ‘get tickets’.

This is when I cheer for NYPD.

I, for one, would fully support this tazering. A good public pants-pissing is exactly what this guy needs.

Eh, the performance will never outweigh the maintenance. The only great thing I can say about the 944 that can’t be disputed is it’s beautiful, box-flared 80's design.

WOW. How deep did you have to dig to pull up this article? Why are you so shamelessly obsessed with defending GM? Why do you bring up GM every time anyone recalls anything?

What’s not to like about an underpowered, unreliable car that’s expensive to fix and maintain, and doesn’t handle any better than a miata?

Yeah, you’d probably get used to it though. My loaner cars are always auto, and I usually get used to it by the time I can go get my car back and then forget about the entire concept of a parking gear.

? There are so many of these in LA. And they work much better than stop lights, because people are forced to actually pay attention to the road.

They get a pass because they issue the recalls when they recognize the problem. Not after 130 people die, and the government has to literally fucking force them to.

...but why? Besides the obvious reason of there being 2x as much of almost everything you’d have in an i6, what makes it such a nightmare?

Hm. The M20's themselves were pretty damn bulletproof. I guess the inetgration wasn’t great? Maybe the electronics?

How you can say this car will flop after seeing the booming success of the Ghibli is beyond me. Americans want Italian exotics (Alfa may as well be in the US) for German luxury prices god damnit.

As it should. It’s a more expensive, more powerful car.

Again, purely off of personal experience. I had LAPD tell me my (clearly bone-stock) miata was a fast car and that I needed to be careful accelerating in it. I’ve watched a cop give my brother a ticket for “unsafe start” and “street racing” because his tires chirped from a stop on a brick path, and my brother argued
