OMG pearl-clutching! That's exactly the term for it, complete with the grandmotherly connotations. Thanks for making my point way better than I did.

Maybe give it some Skittles, just to be sure.

In a safe space where he wouldn't be condemned for saying so, this guy would probably rail against Lincoln for robbing his ancestors of their slaves.

As yet another older millennial...I don’t think this hypersensitivity is anything new, nor did it start with our generation. Honestly it sounds like old people stuff to me, getting all huffy about propriety. My grandmother would’ve complained about this schtick if she'd lived long enough to see it.

What a fuckin' wuss. Do you have any idea the protests abortion providers and patients have to wade through? You can't take the heat for one day?

~160th[ish] trimester abortion? Hey, if they’re going to criminalize it all anyway, in for a penny, in for a pound.

The venn diagram of people who would criminalize abortion and people who think you should be allowed to shoot a would-be burglar in the back as he tries to flee your home is basically just a circle. It's not about whether you think fetuses are people, but whether you think women are.

But they already have two kids. Not disagreeing it’s good she got her abortion, but she’s not going to be free of this asshole.

I agree completely that this matters and needs to be a prominent part of the story. However, I can envision a few scenarios where Stone’s version actually aligns pretty closely with the limited information we have about the custody orders, and any differences can be attributed to either understandable misremembering

To clarify, I have no reason to believe it was the same judge. I just shared that as an example of a judge saying/doing even more egregious things to a child. I've appeared before a lot of judges (lawyer, not repeat offender lol) and most of them are on the fine-to-awesome spectrum. But some are real turds. I will

Yeah, at this point discussions of "true conservatism" vs. whatever the fuck the party has become start to look like solipsistic attempts to separate the top half of a centaur from a horse's ass.

I don’t think mifepristone was available in pharmacies before. Misoprostol was, because it’s also an ulcer medication, but even that I got directly from PP when I had a medication abortion, even though I was to take that at home. As I recall, they had me take the mifepristone (that’s the stuff that actually kills the

Zero percent? Nah. I’d believe this guy would say something like that:

I’m not saying we should reward them, certainly. But what’s happening now is they’re losing a contract they had before any of this came up. Had they said nothing at all about their plans re: abortion pills, they might not have become a Republican target. Had they just quietly pulled the pill from Republican-controlled

On the one hand, I kind of love this, for obvious reasons. On the other, I feel like Walgreens is sorta being punished for initially taking a pro-choice stance, for which Republicans attacked them. Will the lesson CVS and others take from this be “don’t fuck with abortion access,” or “don’t talk about abortion”?

I think the community aspect is the only part of the 12-step programs that works.

I’m not so sure about that. Black women are 5x as likely to have an abortion as white women, so if your goal is to keep the white population high, banning abortion doesn’t seem to be a good strategy. https://www.guttmacher.org/gpr/2008/08/abortion-and-women-color-bigger-picture

Unrelated, but I recently got to visit the Magic Castle. Check out my Yelp review, in which I explain my skepticism over whether they really sawed that lady in half.

Too bad *you* can’t use a credit card to buy an ounce of sense, or even a nice big cup of shutthefuckup.

Honest question, no snark intended: is your local pharmacy selling mifepristone in one of those 20 states? Obviously they can't if they don't operate there. I just feel discouraged sometimes about not even being able to support a business that would actually help these women.
