Oh yeah, they had a whole think about the philosophy of that car or whatever. Also, the luxury was in the car itself and not the wood and chrome like those other loser flagships. They fixed that for the second gen.

Is that guy still the owner? Oh, he’s dead. Then who cares?
With that in mind I would probably change my vote to a slight NP.
An overabundance of humans in the US, mostly. The actual impact of humans on the environment on a per capita basis in third world countries is far lower.
In 2009 they only made 96 of them!
My n55 (‘11 135i) has also been great motor-wise except the known oil leak weak spots (oil filter housing gasket, etc.) and the cooling system (failed coolant reservoir, bad water pump replaced under warranty). The charge pipe did go, but I swapped the plastic oem one with a metal on myself in about 20-30 min. Still…
Haha! I thought that looked familiar. I live in Red Wing, and that’s my home ski hill.
Ok, but the best looking truck is a regular cab with a short bed.
The price might be correct based on the market, but if I’m going to be spending basically $100k I better be at a point were I could just as easily spend $128k on a new one. And that’s what I would buy over this. 8 years is not that young for a car.
Absolutely a car like a 3-series is not really luxury while the 7-series definitely is.
That reminds me of a college friend whose dad bought a Mazda Tribute because he was sick of the poor quality of American cars at the time.
I think it’s a matter of how long will it prove to be a success? And when traffic becomes bad again should we build another lane?
A 1984 Corvette. Ask me how I know, lol.
5,500 pounds?!?
Could literally write the same thing about Piers Morgan. I don’t know what is up with these lumpy British guys, but it’s pretty sad and pathetic to be honest.
Almost as if one is an apple and one is an orange and you’re comparing them, no?
Buying a car from this era has nothing to do with safety or efficiency. People looking to spend $15k on a daily driver are not cross shopping these against Accords. Now, if I had $15k to spend on a late 70' coupe this would definitely not be the one I’d be looking for.
If you know what you’re getting into, and can easily afford a $25-30k car, this is a great deal. I bought my LS430 when it was 10yo with 109k miles for more money than this in 2015 (apples and oranges, I know).
“Later models like this ‘98 spruced things up a bit, with wood on the dash and some better-quality plastics.”
That is a neat feature, but it would have been way cooler if it was a hard top set up ala the original 8-series.
