Still desperately waiting for that third album. They absolutely shredded at those 2012 reunion shows.

Read the sentence again, man. It's openly acknowledging the exact point of the movie, that Dante's entire character is a stand-in for all dumb, angst-ridden 20 somethings. The movie is great for precisely that reason and it's why I used it as a touchstone.

Many, many thanks for your words about the article. I completely agree about the ending of Return of the Jedi as well. Too many doors slammed shut with the locks jammed. I love that The Force Awakens took that ending and said, "Well, some good stuff happened! Some bad stuff too. It's complicated."

Never.

God damn, Citric. I just spit coffee all over my keyboard because of you.

Precisely what Merlin said. FPSes in 1995 were primarily about facing the right direction and just blasting away.

Matt, Joe and I also took a break from Bloodborne, Resident Evil and everything else to sit around playing Bonk's Adventure. Here's what I can tell you:

I will be very, very interested to see what you think of Transistor, Patrick. It did not work for me as well as Bastion did. Joe Keiser and I had a long talk about it shortly after I beat it in January and determined that, had we played it when we were 14, it probably would have been the most mindblowing thing of all

It's so damn hard to find the right co-op partner. I'm turning 33 next month and it's already incredibly difficult to find someone with the time to play, and I write about games for a living! But I'm lucky because my best friend is still an avid player. That's something I didn't mention in the article: the person I'm

On the anime creepo scale, it ranks pretty low. Check it out for sure.

It's really, really good. If you like Metroid/Castlevania/Monster World style non-linear adventure games, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is a freaking great one. Best of the series to date.

Ico in '01, Shadow of the Colossus in '05, Dark Cloud in '00, and Dark Cloud 2 in '02. Ico was actually a PS1 game at the beginning!

From the first draft of the review:

Prof, you know what's an awesome way to grind in FFXIII? Once you're out on the plains, just kill behemoths over and over again. They respawn in a couple of places. Do that on repeat while watching the full cycle of Mr. Plinkett Star Wars prequel reviews. By the time you finish Episode III, your whole party will be

That really is the bitch of it: there's so much potential in the setting. The insane mob violence of the Terrors and some of the larger than life personalities from that time and place would make for a perfect Assassin's Creed tale. But they just ruin everything. They ruin the Marquis de Sade's big video game debut!

Our very own Drew Toal is rocking the Assassin's Creed Unity review for Gameological. Check out his review of Black Flag from last year, which is almost as awesome as John's review of AC3.

Many thanks, Eric. I actually highly recommend Isolation because it's front loaded with all the good stuff. When you get to that first "ending," and it's impossible to miss, you can just stop there and still have a great, lasting game time.

Pagan, awesome point about how DePalma uses sound in Carrie. He was a master of that back in the '70s. If you get a chance, check out his movie Blow Out. It's a thriller starring John Travolta, who actually plays a movie foley artist who accidentally records an assassination. Some of the awesomest audio-based tension

Oh man. WHERE DOES EVERYONE PEE?!
